I didn't watch it on RTE in case I'd have to listen to Ronnie Whelan but i agree that jennet Dunphy is too much to take. I was never a good soccer player nor professed to be but that b0llox has made a fortune out of making people believe that he knows the game. I remember him playing, he was an average player at best and he has piggy backed on Giles for the past thirty years. This passionate thing with him is an attempt at acting but again he's been found out there also he's simply B class at that also (that's where b0llox really cuts in). I know some guys will come on and defend him but I've said my piece and I'm out now!

Before I finish does he still use the word guile? the b0llox will probably have learnt a new one at this stage, the sh1thead, goodnight now.

to be fair to Dunphy i think he has a point regarding hunger/ambition. The problem is for teams who have no realistic chance of winning anything, its hard to take the over coaching that has ruined the game today. You see average teams being trained to within an inch of their lives, being told not to drink, smoke, do anything vaguely fun being coached by managers with no ambition, just parking the bus and praying for 0-0.....Ireland are not the only ones. As a player it destroys any vague enjoyment you would have in the game. At one point yesterday Long was back tackling at left back

To be honest when managing a team like Ireland, guys like Allardyce, Venables, Charlton etc.... are better suited. Let them get rat ar5ed and go on the pi55, create a genuine team spirit. When you look at Euro 96, the best decision Venables ever made was allowing the dentists chair in Hong Kong.......it would never happen now a days......there are no characters any more in the game.

Dunphy is such a hyprocrite, having a dig at the premier league and yet never misses a game.It really is embarrassing now with him and Giles , who doesn't know many of the players on the pitch and laments players not being real men ,like in his Leeds days. You might as well have saint and greavsie on.and as for Damien "eh" duff and failed gambler hamann, it really is a turn off.p.s what is ryle Nugent's mate daire oh Brien doing in France. After his personal troubles the man shouldn't be on rte.
