Wrong meeting but I like two at Gowran who I think should go close. However I am a bit concerned about the ground, they were watering the course prior to the showers. Both would want good ground.
14.00 - Jaime Sommers -11/4 This daughter of Solerina is much better than her last run when patently not getting home over 2m 3f at kilbeggan, she traveled into the race best. The two that finished ahead of her that day came from way of the pace and the winning jockey commented on the suicidal pace, the drop back to the minimum should be ideal for her here. Gordon Elliot trains the favourite after a treble last night and has to be respected, two negatives for the fav though are a heavy fall just 19 days ago and Roger Loughran. 14.35 - Buonarotti Boy -9/2 A half brother to derby winner authourised is just the sort of summer jumper that Gordon Elliot thrives with, handicapped in the winter on soft ground and a completely different preposition on better ground. I don't think 9lbs will stop him as Luke Dempsey had a double handful really and was just nudged out. The syndicate (his parents involved) that owns Buonarotti Boy gave Elliot his first Irish trained winner only 9 years ago. |
