I have nailed my colours to Moonlight Magic @ 16.5 and 5 place .He won't mind the ground , and is sure to run a big race . Bolger is very happy with him and he was only about 90% fit the last day ,there is more to work on, Jim knows what it takes to peak a horse on the day . A cracking looker and well balanced so sure to handle the track , and hopefully will give Kevin a winning ride .
Looks the hardest Derby to solve in years to me WR, i wouldn't be surprised if the 2nd or 3rd turned it around with Moonlight from the Derrinstown. Not much between Wings of Desire and Deauville, Moore opts for US Army Ranger, throw in the French one and Harzand having his ground,i'm flumoxed by it.
Think Minding is head and shoulders ahead of any of her rivals formwise tomorrow but soft ground with the extra distance and a tough enough Irish 1000 would stop the hand going in the pocket, she could get away with it but if she doesn't Aiden will have a few questions to answer, hope not but possible he has made a mistake with the Curragh.

Minding has had a hard season so far Pa , laid her on the back of Wildmanfromborneos thread at the Curragh ,that was a good race and the first two pulled right away ,always a good sign , the question as you have already posed is, is he going to the well once to often.

It would be interesting to hear Wildmans thoughts this time around alright. If i was a conspiracy theorist i'd say Ballydoyle was her natural brown colour, Ado knew she hadn't a prayer on the going at the Curragh and thought a half brought to the boil Minding would get away with it. I had no doubt Minding would get the mile and a half after Newmarket, know it is down to bobs but would have loved to see her have had a crack off the Derby without the Curragh race, just was wishful thinking obviously on my part. A poor field for an Oaks other than Minding but such a must watch, backers on a good thing with form, layers on a good thing with trip and poor preparation(?). Fence for me.

With the ground now looking soft and more showers expected tomorrow, I think Harzand is a very good bet @ 12/1. The form of his trial win @ Leopardstown is looking very strong and the extra 2 furlongs expected to bring out more improvement, he should run a very big race if he handles the track. If he can keep tabs early and and not be too far off the leaders @ the furlong mark, there should be no horse finishing stronger @ the business end of the race.

Worked out in the end , 6 of the 9 didn't stay , only the first two did . The 6/4 Minding today now looks one of the bets of the year , although anyone who laid her pre race could have got their money back easily in running . Not sure what price she hit , think I saw 3/1 .
Brave filly .

She is one brave filly got a right belt on the snout again this time it was Kevin Manning. She never flinched when asked to go up the rails, exceptional filly.
Put her by and come back for Arc.She is one brave filly got a right belt on the snout again this time it was Kevin Manning. She never flinched when asked to go up the rails, exceptional filly.
They'll surely go to the Curragh for the Oaks now, they haven't much else for the race and she looked as good as ever over a mile and a half.
How are you getting on pa?They'll surely go to the Curragh for the Oaks now, they haven't much else for the race and she looked as good as ever over a mile and a half.
Great NA no complaints at all, Probably, it's 5 weeks away, that looks an open goal unless that So Mi Dar turns up,she is all that is left with the girls. If it was anyone else other than Coolmore there was a fair chance she could have won the Derby, pity we'll never know. Whether the books are slow to update which is possible she is anything between 4/1-12/1 for the ARC, if she ran there you would be rubbing your hands at the higher end prices.

10s freely with corals..just availed there..some price if she runs..obv the caveat that coolmore might like to win it with a colt but if they havent an obvious one...?

Sometimes the daq gives a pointer though accept the place market on the Derby is still immature, still someone is quite prepared to take a fair bit less on particulary Idaho and Port Douglas(4.9 against 5.8 and 5.1 against 5.3) The Robot has just got out of bed and is obliging. Probably the start of an early market move, someone deffo likes Idaho,i'd play the place part on him but the purple person has killed the price.

what a plonker ryan moore was today, trying to win the derby from virtually last place and getting blocked in when trying to make the run to the line and using up all the petrol getting into contention. hard luck for fav backers, i think best horse came second, thats still unproven.

Good spot , new approach . Hope you had plenty on .
The money was for the first and second , probably in that order . Before I went out today Harzand was 12 on here , when I came home some hours later it was 9.2 . Guess someone filled their boots .
Moore is the best jockey around , but he's still no Lester .
