It didnt ditch flat racing,it was taken from them.

In what I consider a grab for money an orchestrated campaign was started against flat racing in Wexford.
The excuse is safety.
The SIS money is substantial and other courses want it.

Its far cheaper to run flat races.

The orchestrated campaign against flat racing in Wexford was started by Wexford.
It originated in the idea to change the track to left handed. They were only interested in suiting NH racing. From the jockey trials the flat jockeys were always against it.

All racing should be taken from them, left or right handed without doubt its the biggest crapphole in the country.
Knobb bookies , knobb jockeys there regularly, knobb ground, knobb catering, knob atmosphere, its basically an absolute khazi.
It should be converted into a training ground for ISIS , and let them blow the kip out to the sea.

I ventured once ever to the strawberry racecourse and to say that it was an experience would be an understatement to say the least, mincer is correct and right with all he said about the kip, in fact he is probably being kind to it...

I don't know how you can blame Wexford, the switching to left handed worked.

Its far more costly to run jump racing.

The flat jockeys complaints are orchestrated by vested interests.
The Tote is one of them, they want bigger fields, other racecourses also want to get their Germans on the fixtures.

Are these alleged complaining flat jockeys happy about careering downhill in Tramore.

Wexford is a lovely country course,it has a lovely restaurant upstairs the far side of the parade ring,it has that lovely country feel to it.
Mincer hates all Irish racecourses, has never said a good word about any of them.
He thinks all racecourses should be like Cheltenham,a pipe dream but not possible.

Dan you must be having a laugh , lovely restaurant on the far side of the parade ring , I wouldn't even open the door of the place. The last time I was in it they didn't have sausages , that is a first for an Irish racecourse . And the previous time the guy serving me took the chips out of a tray with his hand and placed them on my plate , he then took the money from me and went to tihe till and gave me my change, almost all in the one movement .
Now I'm not expecting the place to be Michelin star but there has to be some acceptable standard .
You mustn't be too fussy when it comes to the trough Dan, I know from yer posts that you are a happy go lucky kind of fella. Eat anything ,  and have a Shiite up on top of a ditch , that kind of stuff. I would be just a small bit more discerning than that .

I rarely eat at the races.
I don't expect food that is being served on a once off basis to be similar to what you get in a regular restaurant.

I went to Wexford last year to see the new experiment, the journey was much longer than I thought.
I loved it,it reminded me of Fakenham.
I went for something to eat,I was directed to what looked to me like a new building,it was in thr far left hand corner ( I genuinely think Mincer was in the old restaurant ) I got a lovely meal from a carvery, proper cutlery and huge portions.

There has to be a place in Ireland for small racecourses, they all can't be like Leopardstown, there has to be a course that caters for moderate animals,Vroom Vroom Mag debuting there being an exception.

Its also a meeting for the locals, its unique and should be supported not hassled by greedy individuals with an ulterior motive.

Had many an enjoyable evening in wexford. Might not be ascot or cheltenham but who wants to go to big tracks all the time. And for it to be called "the biggest crap hole in the country" is harsh. That accolade surely goes to Thurles

That restaurant is excellent as racecourses go and overlooks the final bend and the parade ring depending on where you are sitting
