Grand National starting time 5.15 .

Guess this is a case of bending the knee to the interested parties ( bookies mainly) .  With substantial overround guaranteed the extra 90 minutes punting will generate extra turnover ( and profit) for the bookies .

Interfering with long held tradition does not always work though . Cant say I am a fan of the longer wait , even if the rest of the card is showing us some brilliant horses .
