Fully agree , what next, maybe they'll offer her a show of her own .
By:
I'm sure there were some beauts on here championing her cause when the story first broke,(Ebola was the end of the world at the time as well)
Agree shocking waste of money and probably means more cookery programmes. |
By:
They must celebrate now when they lose those bids for the sporting events - it means they have more to waste on whatever they please.
By:
Why the shock. This is a tv station that celebrated the life and times of a cocaine head. Station of filth

Cant believe they sent someone out to interview an adjudged criminal in Peru , reckon someone just wanted to see the llamas or whatever . Some locals here knew what the result of the court case was going to be when the news first broke , and generally there is no smoke without fire .
Only good news associated with the story is that apparently she wont be able to come home for some time yet , maybe RTE should have held their powder for another 4 years or so . Have my own views on legalisation of drugs , sometimes think it might be better if the whole supply was taken out of the hands of the drug barons , evidence being that actions to date have proved ineffective . But thats an aside for someone who knew they were breaking the law big time especially in a foreign country . |
By:
As RTE are apologists for Sinn Fein, you should not be surprised if they endorse other criminals.
By:
What happened her partner in crime?
By:
im no apologist for rte but i think they bought it off some indo company.i think the other girl persued a diff course and shes in jail in england/scotland?
By:
I feel sorry for the girl, it's not as if she was a criminal or anything of the kind.
Plenty young people fall into bad company and end up getting involved in situations that they shouldn't have had. She was a tiny player in a operation , a mule or a pawn , whatever you like to call it . What she did was maybe wrong but in my opinion it's no big deal. It's not as if she's own her own , she's one of thousands who do it , and mostly with little or no reward . She has been foolish but at the end of the day , she isn't a bad sort. She has paid her dues and deserves a go at a new life. She has spent nearly 4 years in some rat infested khazi jail in whatever dump it was , I for one think she has been harshly treated . There are people doing much worse every day of the week over here and getting away relatively Scot free. |
By:
People who have lost children to drugs will disagree Mincer , these mules are a cancer to soceity . Without them a lot of these drugs wouldn't get onto the streets of Europe .
By:
What a load of bawlixx that is wonks, if they didn't make cigarettes there would be less people die from cancer, if they didn't sell drink there would be no alcoholics, if there was no gambling companies then there would be no problem gamblers .
People make a choice to take drugs and no young girl is going to make the slightest difference to that . |
By:
Mincer hard to have much sympathy, alright she was a dopey bubblehead but the gunpoint story and the bull she came out with when she was caught lost that.
People doing worse alright and getting less punishment, she took a gamble for a few pound and she lost the lot. I'd love to see the thread that was up on here, sure some thought she was abducted by aliens. |
By:
And what a load of tripe that is Mincer , kids been taken off the families and made work for these **** .Lots of children been given FREE drugs outside schools to get them hooked , wheres the choice in that I ask , People make choices my arse , these are the scum of the earth..
By:
No bigger scum than a betting firm who take nearly 2 million off a man , knowing full well it was stolen money, and of course which led to the man losing his job, his family , going to jail and inevitably ruining his life.
By:
I don't know what dive you live in wonks , but they don't be giving kids drugs outside schools in too many areas.
By:
Drugs are whats ****g up people today Mincer ,plain and simple, and she was a part of that for money . Many a family missing their children tonight because of mules like her .
By:
Would you stop ffs, drugs me bawlixx. She was a young innocent girl who got involved in a poor decision making experience , what she was getting for it was very paltry surely , particularly in relation to the penalty she received.
By:
Mincer either you're on the stuff yourself or you're having a laugh . poor decision making is that what you call it, I say the guy who strapped it on her was pissing himself laughing at her ,another Irish gobshyte falling for his speel , and I say there was many more like her . Glad to see rte got it up them from joe public, and announced they never paid her or her family a penny for the interview...

" she was a young innocent girl who got involved in a poor decision making experience, what she was getting for it was very paltry surely "
That's a sentence worthy of Rocketfingers, there is so much wrong with it its hard to know where to start. We can start with innocent,in no sense of the word was this lady innocent, she was in her words a " dancer " " a poor decision making experience " dreadfully worded euphemism. " very paltry surely " The very here is superfluous. The paltry suggests she wasn't paid enough as if it was some straight forward business deal. The surely shows indecision, unaware of the going rate, guessing in other words. I'm not sure RTE are at fault here, people are interested in these things. |
By:
i heard some northern lady journalist interviewed on radio yesterday.it seems she was far from an innocent poor colleen taken in by evil foreigners!!
By:
She deserved everything she got. Peru deserve credit for giving her 6 years. In ireland she'd have gotten a slap on the wrist and "community service" with the usual faces calling for her "Human rights" to be respected etc....
The only pity was she didn't do this in Indonesia etc... |
By:
Didn't take her long to get the blond highlights and a serious teeth whitening job.First day out!

for a fella with zero tolerance usually mincer I'm taken by your sympathy here-good on ya I say as a father. One mistake and no forgiveness; we're truly in the age of Trump, Palin and the Tea party.
If anyone wants to bellyache about abuse of drugs, stand outside any doctor's surgery at 9am on a Monday morning and see the number of green sheets being paraded 30 minutes afterwards. This holier-than-thou anti-mule sentiment is complete nonsense with the accepted level of legal substance abuse here. If our legal system had any merit there would be camps full of undesirables with 50-100 previous convictions and I wouldn't have to step out of their way on daily basis. But thats an aside for someone who knew they were breaking the law big time especially in a foreign country (racingqueen) I've one issue with all this media attention: the woman in question is herself from a foreign country but somehow we have news reporters who have decided otherwise. Man bites dog in Lisburn...yawn, ****ing yawn |

By:
Sanctimonious shyte R.A. The reason these druggies are getting in your way most days is BECAUSE of these MULES . As a Father myself if one of my daughters was caught smuggling drugs I'd have no sympathy for her , I instilled the mantra in all my children that anyone offering you drugs is only looking at you as their cash machine. Maybe you could or should follow suit . This girl was worldly wise ,no excuses for her behaviour.

There are minks scouring the countryside terrifying old people in their homes, there are families in every town in the country who are holding their areas to ransom, and theres nothing being done about in most instances.
Bringing in drugs is no big deal in relation to other crimes, particularly violent ones. With the demand for these drugs, and the money involved, you can be certain that the people involved are going to get them in, no matter what way they do it. |
By:
Mincer , thanks for confirming my argument. Bringing in drugs gives this scumbags the false courage to commit these crimes .
By:
Go away will ya, knakkers dont need drugs to commit crimes, they are perfectly capable of looting and rampaging without any help.

Your issues seem to be with the travelling comm , you are blinded by everything else .Sure theres no harmin drugs he says, ffs get real...
