There one sure thing Vautour  WONT be running in the Ryanair next year, SRY for anyone you backed him for the Gold Cup. He looked like he could go around again.

He ran in the right race as it stands for me but thats not the point,

The point for me is that it dilutes the two big races the QM and GC,

Some horses might never be fast enough for a QM or stay a GC and the ryanair was a good idea as a consolation but it should be a Grade 2 worth about half the money so that it stays a consolution.

If it were around years ago would we have ever seen Dessie finally get the big one or the magic of One man the day he won the QM,

It's a joke of a race, Vautour is a machine but no one will remember him winning a Ryanair in 20 years time,
Vautour on that ground wins the GC if he's held onto a bit longer

Brilliant as he was today, I couldn't ever see him staying 3m 2. He ran in the right race today and this is the right race for him next year too. If the stable have any regrets about not running in the GC, then surely it applies to Valseur Lido, who was crying out for further and would have been on top of Vautour in another 2 furlongs.

FWIW I agree about diluting the GC but I have to say I thought the Ryanair was a great race today

It was by no means a great race with such a one sided result. I don't think he has the stamina for gold cup but still should have tried. The next two should def been in gold cup.
Road to riches paid the price for taking him on the whole way and that's probably why he lost second.
Meade was mad keen to run him in gold cup. I think he could have had a major say seeing as he finished a good third last year on ground he didn't like.
