Probably best to leave the competition thread as that...
Have backed Gurteen in the 1st. Though am on at shorter than he is on here at the moment. The current 2.84 looks very big indeed. I cant help get the feeling that if he was trained by WPM, he would have all the hype in the world surrounding him, and be a shade of odds on here.
Its a good little heat, and not one to be too dogmatic about, but IMO he offers the value.
Tell us More is trained by WPM, and that is the only reason he can be so short in the 2.40.
He looked slow, and was comprehensively beaten at Leop at Xmas. He then won an absolute cabbage race down at GP. So far nothing to make him the price he is today. He then went to Navan. To my eye he done nothing to enhance his reputation, jumping markedly left and finally falling. He would have beaten a 4 miler just out for a gallop, and a beast that is currently gone at the game that couldn't beat the aforementioned 4 miler that was just out for a gallop!!
He could have got his jumping act together in the mean time, and he could improve enough to win today. But at 2.8, he has a lot of ifs and buts about him.
Rule the World finds it hard to win, but is rock solid, and brings the best form to the race. He should certainly be fav IMO.
I will back him and lay TUM.
On a decent little card for time of year, the 4.40 is a pretty good staying hcp chase, with a few lightly raced potential improvers at the head of the market.
One I prefer at a price is Ibetellingyoualie. He finds it hard to win himself, and is 5lb out of the hcp here. Andy Ring somewhat offsets that with his claim, and he has his ideal conditions today. I can see him running into a place, and have played e.w at 25-1. Today could just be his day.
