Dangerous game trying to second guess JP in them types of races though.
One JP runner that I am very much looking forward to seeing today is Drumcliffe in the Kempton bumper. He was green as grass on debut but smacked of something a little bit different. Given plenty of time since that eye catching debut, he can be expected to have come on a bundle. Its a hot race, with the favourite very much respected, but Drumcliffe for me before going on to much better things. Don't really have much interest in the AW, but I think Festive Fare can make amends for a somewhat moody run the last day. There a few reasons to expect him to gain revenge on Grendisar. Firstly it was only his 8th career start, and as a just turned 4 year old, surely has the greater scope to find more. Atzeni instead of Buick is a definite bonus for me. Things didn't go to plan the last day, and when that happens with Buick, there is rarely an effective Plan B. For a horse who wants every yard of the 10fur, the gallop was pretty sedate that day and he was caught out when it quickened. The first time cheekpieces should help him travel sweeter, but most importantly surely Maverick Wave will be setting fractions that little bit quicker today. A couple of the other likely contenders are having their comeback runs off breaks, and will be viewing this as a stepping stone to Good Friday. Expect Atzeni to sit second or third, and put it to bed passing the furlong pole. |

Afraid to put up one of last fence Rubys mounts , Bel Sas 5.15. comes into this with a nice profile , would expect him to come on hugely from his p2p run .

callit,
drumcliff impressed me also, not a great race he won but as you say looked classy and will have come on a bundle, the king horse is the one,i would of been on him again here but 3 weeks ago he had a problem and needed anti biotics (meant to be fine now)im worried after being ill the horse might need today? its down to run in the festival anyway?so im looking at drumcliff! in the 4.10 king kayf ,ran a stinker lto @ascot but before that had decent form, has since had a wind op, 40/1 is too big imo and i,ll be on small e/w |

Very disappointing there.

Bit of a contradiction there Tony?
You thought the winner won with plenty in hand, but the optimally ridden well beaten second enhanced the Altior form?? Personally think Altior looked more of a stayer at Kemp. Open Eagle who is no 2 miler himself, looked to have him stone cold turning in. I imagine on quicker ground, Altior could be left behind coming down the hill. Will no doubt plug on up the hil, but the bird(or aeroplane!!) could have flown. |

we,ll see callit, i rate the henderson horse not sure its a great race this year but ican only go on what ive seen.

Yeah, I think it very poor race aswell. Very little strength in depth.
Min has looked just as good as Douvan did prior to it, and his form is stacking up unbelievably well. The 9-4 or 5-2 that will be dangled the morning of the race will do me just fine. |

Good to see Drumcliffe strong in the market. Always worrying when the opposite is the case in these silks.
Will put in for a stake trade at approx. 1.35 as its quite possible he may still need the experience, and not do what he quite looks like doing. |
