I think you are giving Fine Gael too many seats.
I think you are giving Labour too many seats. I think you are giving Fianna Fáil too few seats. I can't see the obvious coalition going ahead as I think it will split Fianna Fáil. I think the next Dail will be short lived, expect another election. |

You're probably right. There's an element of wishful thinking in my figures though I predicate them on a silent last minute swing of maybe 1 or 1 1/2 % to the gov.

To complete the post ! - I note the Irish Examiner editorial advocates a vote to return the Coalition -interesting from a paper based in or near Martin's constituency. The Irish Independent is neutral but with some hints of pro-Coalition thinking whereas the Irish Times seems hostile to the Coalition in its editorial and general front page material.

I'm not a Labour supporter but if i was I'd be hopping mad.
They put the country first five years ago and are getting hammered for it. There is something rebellious and exotic about voting for independents but its not conducive to stable government. There is a strong possibility that three independents will be returned in Tipperary, these gentlemen are so disperate in views you couldn't get them to agree on anything. |

The Irish electorate doesn't do gratitude. What did they expect -from the nadir to utopia in less than 5 years ?

Labour didn't put the country first, they just used it as an excuse to line their own pockets. They sacrificed all of their founding principles for the sake of ministerial pensions and mercs and brought in a small selection of policies to appease a minority within their party.
