oops cut me off
what I was trying to say was that speith seemed to be fatigued last week- all the hard weeks of travelling may have caught up with him. (then I thought this before he won the final leg of the fedex cup last year) mcilroy seems far the fresher golfer right now so I'd much prefer to back him at the prices. |

LEWIS,
As you say "same guy" callitasucit • February 15, 2015 9:48 PM GMT Have got bit bored of this one, bit tit for tat, and no knockout blow. But Jesus NGU, it's a bit fuc kin harsh slagging some chap who obviously has difficulties. You should be ashamed of yourself. Cop yourself on lad, and get a life will you. I wouldn't mind, he hit the nail on the head as regards your apparent jealousy. Though I'm not sure that snooker is the right sport for him, seeing as his wife reckoned he wasn't great with the cue!! Snookerpunter • February 15, 2015 10:05 PM GMT Tank you callt. I felt very low after the other making fun of me. I shoud not have come on i spose but just was annoying me for few weeks. i have slit my wrists with depression lot of times and was thinkin of doing it gain after reeding what ngu wrote. he is not nice person. i hope he feels prowd of himslef. pr ick. callitasucit • February 15, 2015 10:05 PM GMT Only have the phone charged now after work Snap, hadn't the charger with me. Costly feckin error. Fair play, they were nice results. Did you combine them again?? I hope that poor Snooker chap is ok, and didn't take too much offence to what NGU said. One thing I cant stand is someone slagging someone who genuinely has difficulties. Hope he is proud of himself. Loser. callitasucit • February 15, 2015 10:07 PM GMT Good to hear your ok Snooker....as you say, he should be ashamed of himself. Sick really. Im off to watch the rest of my investments in the golf go by the wayside. Best of luck in the future. |

The Women's Australian Open is well under way in Grange GC in Adelaide where the brilliant 18 year old New Zealander Lydia Ko 7/4 is fav by a mile.
The Defending Champion & World Numero UNO is coming off a win in the NZ version in Christchurch last week. Those interested in backing Willett 10/1 or Oosthuizen 14's in the Maybank Championship from Royal Selangor GC in Kuala Lumpur better get moving - it starts shortly in Malaysia. |

Backed Martin Kaymer @ 20s in Malasyia
In LA I fancy, Rory McIlroy 8/1 here & Charl Schwartzel 33/1. If Adam Scott drifts to 55s 60s I will have to get involved as well. Has the makings of a great tournament. |

Pod 320's added and 9/4 to BT Els and Walker in their 3 ball.

”L.A.'s fine, the sun shines most of the time” in ‘Hogan’s Alley’ at RIVIERA Country Club, Pacific Palisades, within the city limits of Los Angeles. Yes and the feeling is ‘laid back’ in sunny southern California - think Pacific Coast highway north out past Santa Monica, on your way to Malibu.
Home (for the last time) to the Northern Trust Open, the sponsor since ‘73. Hyundai step in next year. Ben Hogan won here three times in 18 months, two L.A. Opens and the 1948 US Open, hence the nickname 'Hogan’s Alley'. A Par 71 (35-36) of 7,349yds as per the scorecard in my hand but 8th hole shortened to make it 7,322yds this week. ‘Yeah, bin dare, dun dat’ - I hear you say. This OPEN began in 1926 (celebrating it's 90th Anniversary) and Riviera has been the proud host of a US Open plus two PGA Championships and the 1998 Senior US Open and so is one the more demanding tracks on TOUR. It features three par 5s, four difficult par 3s and 11 par 4s. The iconic par-4 10th is extremely short and often referred to as 'the best short par 4 in golf' but many of the others are quite long. The par-5 first hole is reachable by everyone in the field, with many guys taking 3-wood off the tee and still finding the green with an iron. The par-5 17th is basically unreachable for a large number of players, and the par-5 11th requires a very long and accurate drive to make it home in two. Faster and smallish greens than last week slow 10’s - the Stimp will be closer to 12’ on the creeping Bentgrass and Poa annua greens with very few gimmies on these greens. Doglegged fairways are protected by quite gnarly Kikuyu grass rough. There are 60 bunkers out there with no water on this 1926 design (redesigned by Fazio in ‘08). Palm trees grow and rents are low as Riviera stands the test of time, because there are multiple ways to make hay. Short game experts that can navigate the slick greens and that gnarly rough can contend with the bombers who can smash it over the doglegs. Shot-shapers that play from the middle of the fairway will have the advantage of hitting the proper spots on the greens. Even the good putters will be happy to see some pep back into the greens. But'cha know I keep thinkin’ about makin my way back as there are risk-reward holes; there is a hole with a bunker directly in the middle of it; there is a drivable par four 10th and an easy par five. While Riviera CC historically rewards high-class players, there are a few instances of late that have seen this theory challenged. Hahn, Merrick & Baddeley are recent such examples. This week’s line up features 15 of the top 30 OWGR players. The top 50 after Riviera can make plans for next month’s WGC-Cadillac Championship at Trump Doral. Among those trying to hang on above that cutline are Robert Streb and Chris Kirk. These have previous... 2015 James Hahn 278 (Who?) Won in a 3-way playoff * (first-time TOUR winner) 2014 Bubba Watson 269 (70,71,64,64) 2013: John Merrick 273* Won in a playoff * (first-time TOUR winner) 2012: Bill Haas 277* Won in a playoff * 2011: Aaron Baddeley 272 2010: Steve Stricker 268 2009: Phil Mickelson 269 2008: Phil Mickelson 272 2007: Charles Howell III 268 2006: Rory Sabbatini 271 2005: Adam Scott 133 2004: Mike Weir 267 2003: Mike Weir 275 2002: Len Mattiace 269 (first-time TOUR winner) 2001: Robert Allenby 276 won in a playoff * 2000: Kirk Triplett 272 (first-time TOUR winner). “It never rains in southern California... it pours” - just not for the rest of this week. We had a little rain overnight so the course may be a bit slow this morning when my 125/1 shot attacks just a minute after 7am local time. Perfect golfing weather at 19* and sunny up to 25* Sunday (no early fog we hope). First tee off is 2.40 this afternoon so get a move on to place your bets. |

Those having a last minute bet IN HOLLYWOOD (before the 6&7 places go) should consider the gale of wind that is forecast for this afternoon when STARS like Casey, Spieth, Scott, Garcia, Dustbin, Jacobson & Rodgersmay not shine too bright.
I see a definite advantage, however small, in playing early morning - before 8am on Day 1. - damp & cloudy in a light breeze. The STARS this morning include McGIRT 125/1, Sullivan, TODD 250/1, Choi, Bradley 66's, BUBBA 22's, Rose, JB 28's, Haas, Hideki, RORY 7's, Charl, Walker, Padraig, DeLaet & 80's a Steele. |

Anyone else back Haydn Porteous 14's or George Coetzee 5's in the Dimension Data Pro-Am in Fancourt, SA. Both at -4 just three behind Stone/Van Zyl/Laporta after Day1. Played over the Outeniqua course on Thursday, followed by The Links on Friday and will move onto Montagu on Saturday. The final round of the tournament will be played on the Montagu layout. Nice spot and cheap as sh1t with the Rand now nearly 17 to the Euro ! Worth an overnight plane ride imho. |

Lets do it a different way...
Back down to earth after a fantastic run, with Phil failing to read the script on Sunday. I since topped up on him for the Masters at 25-1. His swing let him down on Sunday, but it’s a learning process, and it will have done him the world of good. In his current form, it’s very hard to imagine him not contending for the first major. An absolute cracker in store this week. One of the best tracks on the PGA Tour and the worlds two best players doing battle. They take out a good chunk of the market, and I believe they can be left alone this week. It’s a track that takes knowing, and as good as Rory is, he will certainly be at some disadvantage on that front this week. He will a bit more control off the tee than at some of his favourite venues, and the putter hasn't got hot yet. Jordan was tougher to ignore, he will be winning soon. But with Poa Annua again in the mix this week, and the call for accuracy off the tee, I can wait another couple of weeks for him. Players that have played well here in the past generally do so on a consistent basis. Robert Allenby was garnering top 10s here for years whilst unable to make the cut anywhere else. |
|
By:
Adam Scott may not be on everyone’s list, nor could he be classed as very much in form. What he is, is an absolute quality ball striker, coming to a venue that is made for him, where he has proved successful before. He has only played once in the last two months, but that is a positive. He is best fresh, and always arrives at his 'targets' off a break. This will be one of them. 40-1(bigger on here) is an insult to a player of his calibre.
I wasn't keen on him last week, I never am at a short price, but Charl Schwartzel makes plenty of appeal this week. He finished the job in some style, and arrives here humming about the state of his game. I backed him at the same price 2 years ago, when he didn't arrive in the same vein, but managed to finish 5th. It’s a course which sets up very well for him, and it’s hard to see him out of the mix. |
|
By:
Another player high on confidence and fresh of a win is Hideki Matsuyama.
He fanned about on a few putts during the last two rounds, but when his back was against the wall he showed his mettle and sent them home with aplomb. When the job was nearly done, he was again tentative over the winning putt, but that win and the way he done it could be a platform to a great year. Riviera will suit just as well, and he should surely be a whole lot shorter than the likes of Dustin Johnson. DJs course credentials are excellent, but they were last week two. And yet again, he was not surprisingly rubbish. |
|
By:
Keegan Bradley and Paul Casey will both be very much looking forward to getting back here.
Two horses for courses, both are much bigger than expected in the market, and can repay e.w support. |
|
By:
With Scott and Schwartzel on the team I probably shouldn't be adding a third of questionable bottle, but Sergio Garcia has a cracking chance here.
He probably should have won here last year, when not at the peak of his powers. His tee to green prowess will go a long way here, and if he manages to hole the odd putt, he could well be holding the trophy come Sunday night. I couldn't ignore the 80-1 on Andy Sullivan. |
|

A debutante here, but too good a player to ever be that price in the form he is in.
