Who are these people bravely standing up to the facists?
I mean the Liberal Elite would not take to the streets, no need when we have control of Montrose and the Media.

it was only some luvvie from RTE. a camera-man (well-paid)
it'll teach him not to get within striking distance of a Garda baton in future. and he still held on to his camera, if he was that sore he'd have dropped it.

The report on the rte news is worth looking at a couple of times to understand what actually happened.First thing to note not enough supporters of Pegida turned up to hold the rally-next you see people from the counter demonstration following who they believe to be Pegida supporters into a newsagent with their faces masked and ordering the cameramen to switch off their camera's -the intention is obvious -they want to deliver their own brand of justice.Gardai arrive-batons are drawn and the shop is cleared-100% correct by the Gardai. Next you see an incident where someone who is presumably/allegedly a Pegida supporter is getting a few slaps-Gardai intervene and you can hear someone proclaim "we are anti fascists". They obviously believe that if you call yourself an anti fascist you are entitled to go around masked and administering beatings to anyone who you have a political difference with. I don't know anything about Pegida but they are entitled to be heard as long as they stay within the limits of the law.

I think by in large the Gardai have been correct but you can't start hitting news reporters, i would say he is some ignoramus brought down from Louth or up from Tipp for a day out, few ham sandwiches and ticket to his the next inter county match game he wants to go to was his reward, guy should be stuck off from the force.

Can you get a bead on an identifying number, Rock? We could phone it in to Templemore. Put an end to his gallavanting up in the Big Smoke. By the way he was handling the truncheon, I'd say there might be a bit of hurling in him.

They take them off mate and for the people saying he is doing his job, journalists/camera men are members of the press and not actually part taking in any form of protest, so attacking them is not doing his job, his job is not to attack but make sure there is law and order present. I understand he may need to use some force from time to time but not on innocent civilians or innocent members of the press who are just doing their jobs. The public would complain if RTE was not at hand to get some footage of what actually went on there, the press are the public's eyes. I would love to know was it a case that the Garda wanted to take a few people out so he wanted to get rid of the evidence first before doing so?

As a rule I don't like to see journalists/cameramen attacked but my interpretation of the footage last night was the Gardai were facing a line of fairly determined and aggressive opponents-I think the cameraman was getting in their way and p@ssed them off.

Disgraceful behaviour from those left-wing thugs, they deserved every belt of the batons they got and a lot more with it.
It is typical of how this country is going, only one view is allowed to be expressed, heaven forbid the idea of a healthy debate.
They picked some weekend to go ape-sh1t, all those visitors over from Britain for Leopardstown saturday and the rugby sunday. Not to mention the boxing fiasco on friday, these clowns have brought shame to the country.
Good luck Bord Failte trying to put a positive spin on this coming up to Paddy's Day. North Korea would look a safer bet than Dublin after this weekend!

The objectors were from Sinn Fein,AAA and other hard left groups. Hope Not Hate a government funded British group known for their violence also attended.
The leader of the march was intercepted on the way where he was attacked and beaten by some thugs, the attackers then went in pursuit of some more marchers, they were baying for blood. They thought they identified some other marchers and pursued them with evil intent, their unfortunate quarry hid in some shop.. The attackers then tried to break into the shop, the Gardai to their credit tried to rescue the under siege.
The hotch potch of attackers were astounded that the law applied to them, they even cried " we are the anti fascists " this plaintive cry didnt work so they resorted to more violence.
The Gardai behaved impeccably even though there were obviously instructions from on high not to arrest any of the thugs.

If you come over to another country and start preaching a message of hate then locals will take offence. We seen a lot of English far right people over looking for support, they got some among the grand sons of Eoin O'Duffy and co, however the men of Ireland stood firm and chased them out. It would be only natural for the Gardai to come in and support the other side and protect them as they are cut from the same cloth.

The attacked were local alright, the attackers were as I said earlier a mixture of Sinn Fein and a government funded British group who travelled over to inflict the violence.

A certain Sinn Fein TD with ink on his hands has a Garda uniform in the back of his van,he doesn't like the Gardai. His wife outside a pub smoking couldn't restrain herself, abused passing Gardai managed to get herself arrested.
Rocketfingers doesn't like the Gardai either but his timidity would render him speechless, any confrontation and we would have a refugee in a German swimming pool scenario.
Maxheadroom similarly doesn't like the Gardai.
I respect the Gardai,in this instance they behaved impeccably, they protected some marchers from a rabble intent on violence, the rabble were an unusual group, some far left government funded gentlemen from England and some old hands at rioting in Dublin from Sinn Fein.
