a colossal bore of a windbag, perhaps. i do not put him in the category of a great Limerick man like Richard Harris. I just about remember his shyte TV programme where he allowed George Best to embarrass himself in front of millions.

This is one for Ozymandius.

He was interviewing some actress on his TV chat show, she was saying in what to me was a change in the meaning of a word that she was celibate for two years,Wogan looked slightly uncomfortable, she asked have you ever  been celibate for a long time,he replied 24 years and some months.
She was shocked but shot back " oh my god you were a virgin on your wedding night " his reply" weren't we all "

A gentleman and a gentle man may the sod lie easy on his bones.

Limerick and Ireland can be rightly proud to have produced Terence .  No gripes with anyone , always looking for positives from everyone he talked to , from the biggest "stars" to the humblest . His education and humour were the big factors in his success . RIP.
