I didn't often fret about the content of Irish media, news or tv, we have so many other options immediately available after all, but I excitedly tuned in t this muppet Ray Darcy on Saturday night to watch his interview with the impressive lawyer from 'Making a Murderer'.

A toe curling, cringe-enducing, abomination of an interview.  Unprepared, directionless, and flippant.  A complete horlicks of an effort.

How on earth has this guy got a job on prime time tv?

No hiding place on TV.

He looks uncomfortable and it makes me uncomfortable watching him.

Brendan O'Connor was doing well after a shaky start. Didn't understand the need to change.

Haven't seen any of Darcy, and admittedly not a lot of BOC.

Of what I did see, he was truly awful. No knowledge of any topic any interviewee brought to the table.

Compared to PK, he was like Shamrock Rovers to Barcelona.

Nice to know where the TV license money is going!!

a little off point but if you are interested in listening to a better interview with the two main filmmakers Moira Demos and Laura Ricciardi check out Alec Baldwin's recent "Here's The Thing" podcast. ( A recent interview with Dustin Hoffman is also entertaining).

I agree with you wonks for once, an imposter of the highest order he is.
How they decided to get rid of O Connor for this yoke is unbelievable. Charisma and talent free is little Ray

RTE keeps on losing rights to sports events. Meanwhile the available money will be wasted on the clique within the organisation so that when future sports bidding comes up the money wont be there. When we had 400K people unemployed they were still handing the goodies to Gaybo. A despicable bunch of know-alls who are so far up their own ar$es its not funny. The sooner the licence fee is taken from RTE the better.

RTE is a nauseating organisation. The amount of nepotism is off the scale. Darcys wife has a nice cushy number in there and even Rex and Lottie Ryan got in the door on the back of their father. No need for media degree in RTE, its all about who you know.

Any political organisation willing to close it down would have my vote

All the various factions on here seem to have found a common ground with their dislike of darcy and I agree.
He's on something like 10k a week. You get the impression from listening to today fm that he wasn't the most popular there either.

Late Late Lamb Describes Horror Of Meeting Tubridy

“THE cold dead eyes… the pale expressionless face… I’ll remember it for the rest of my life,” those were the words of a young lamb who was subjected to a horrific experience on Friday night’s edition of The Late Late Show, where he had to meet and work with Ryan Tubridy.

Known as Dynamo, the young lamb had been invited to appear on the show with his owner TJ Gormley, to demonstrate an innovative “carousel” used in the tagging and maintenance of lambs on the farm.

Although the segment raised many concerns about the wellbeing of the lamb during the demonstration of the carousel, Dynamo has come forward to say that while being strapped to a machine in front of studio lights and a baying crowd wasn’t uncomfortable in the slightest, but having to deal with Tubridy himself was an ordeal.

“I just felt the life draining from me while I was in his company,” sobbed Dynamo, speaking to WWN during a break from being in a field. “It’s just this hideous awkwardness, this sense that he’d rather be anywhere else than hosting Ireland’s highest-rated TV show while cashing one enormous paycheque after another.

“It was only when I was in the back of the trailer on the way home to Galway, I started to relax”.

The Lamb would have asked better "questions" than Darcy,Darcy is not bad on the wireless but way way out of his dept on National TV.

On top form tonight.

A love in with David Norris culminating with a thank you for all his help in getting the " equality " referendum through,he kept using the word we.

Ne'er a question about his former lover who having got away with rape sent some unfortunate Palestinians to their death for the crime of selling land to Jews.

This is followed by some compensation seekers getting the usual soft interview.

The lack of RTE talent was striking last night as Tubridy interviewed Paul Williams.

I admit to not liking Tubridy and dont watch the show but knew Williams was on and kept flicking over until he was on, {sadly last}.

Tubridy was an embarrassment as he constantly cut him off in mid sentence and broke Williams direction on all the characters.

It was plain he had a set of questions to get through and wasnt listening to Williams answers as he interupted at all the wrong times.

Gaybo might have had his faults but he knew to let the interviewee do the talking and let him expand.

It was a completely wasted chance to get the low down from a clearly bullish Williams
