Meant to post it over on horse racing. 
If Cooper is ejected by Gigginstown, I wonder would Nicholls make a move for him. In terms of natural talent he is so far ahead of STD it is funny and riding over there is much calmer waters 90% of the time. Allow him to get his confidence back.
Nicholls is in transition & will have little in open company Grade 1's next season again. Cooper could get his confidence back and learn all there is to know about his upcoming novices right through from the beginning.
If Cooper comes available and Nicholls doesn't move for him, or someone of his ilk, I'd take it he might be losing his edge despite always having a slight blind-spot for jockeys.
