Were you using cash out as a serious option or just seeing what would work for small money? Why not just lay back rather than just hand free money to Betfair.

It is probably the biggest gimmick yet and massively weighted in the bookmakers favour. The main bookmakers operate the facility at much higher margins, but the exchange is worse. I used it once and it was by accident, when the changes to the apps were being made when it was first introduced. I asked for an option to remove it but there was no chance of that happening.

At the time it was in Golf and apparently I cashed out of my winning Shane Lowry position in the PGA at Wentworth and what Betfair do is take all the prices on the lay side until you are matched. If there is small liquidity you get fleeced and end up chasing prices out like soapp used to do with his lays (when he was not going racing - otherwise he would have backed these horses).

Good answer from mincer all the same!
