Sequels are very rarely as good as the original, and while we knew it would be virtually impossible to replicate the £7,200 that we raised last year at our Jonjo Bright Minerstown Tavern Cheltenham Festival Preview event held on March 5th past, we're far from disheartened by the £6000 total that we amassed this year. I was in two minds whether or not even to go ahead with this year's event, and was only finally swayed by my co-organizer from last year. Not mentioning any names, (she's very shy), but she she wasn't going to let the small matter of the birth of her lovely son get in the way of selling tickets and taking care of other fundraising business. Cheers Ruthless.
Some of u may have seen that I have begun the thank yous both on Twitter and on here, (they tend to appear on here after I Tweet them anyway), and I'll do my best not to forget anyone, although it's a racing cert that I will do. Just like yesterday's post, this thank u is for everyone who played their part in this. Our sponsors, our brilliant panel and compere, charity bet donators, auction lot donators, auction lot winners, raffle prize donators, our wonderful ticket sellers, and our superb ticket buyers, staff at the Minerstown Tavern, and those that I forget to mention. There's sure to be somebody, I promise u not, it's not my intention to do so. From the bottom of my heart I thank everyone who made this possible, and, more importantly, memorable and worth the effort. There's a lot of effort that goes in to such things, but when u/we manage to raise £6000 this year to go along with the £7200 from last year, it was worth every Tweet, Facebook post, email, text message, etc. etc.
I spoke with John Bright, Jonjo's Dad, earlier today, and the plan is to arrange a cheque presentation/handover at Downpatrick on sunday june 12th. With a bit of luck the main man, Jonjo will be able to make the trip himself. There was more than me involved in this venture, and it's hoped that anyone who falls into any of the categories that I mentioned above can join us on the evening
Thanks again everyone
MANY THANKS FANTASTIS AMMOUNT RAISED FOR WORTHY CAUSE
