David Milliband got over his disappointment of losing the Labour leadership battle by getting a huge job in the charity industry in New York.
Another to make the move to the charity industry was our own racing hero Jonathan Irwin, shortly after closing the Phoenix Park he made his move. There is something incongruous about someone on a huge salary trying to stripe some skint individual for a fiver. You don't only get huge wages you are lauded, invited on various discussion programmes and appointed to State boards. |

135 thousand a year plus car and pension seems a lot for running a charity. The only charities i would give to are local ones. Ran the dublin marathon good while back and raised some funds for cancer research. Thinking of running it again this year and wouldn't consider giving them funds. Rather give it to local ones where are least you can see the work they do. As i said cancer research and other's do good work but it seems a lot of funds are on salaries.
