2.05 UP FOR REVIEW really rate this fella, won as he liked lto, space cadet was beat the other day but I think this fella was only in 2nd gear when he beat him..i hope ruby gets him going early as he does nothing quickly..hes a big galloper..and fences will be his game..but tomorrow should see him move up another notch..i just hope hes not a daft price..this is a tough race..with the stable mate the main danger for me..
I thought 13/8 was massive but only lasted 10 minutes and 6/4 still looks oerpriced to me.
I am not sure your comment about Space Cadet leaving down the form stands up to much scrutiny when it was the third from the same race that got the better of him at Leopardstown.
The sixth from UFR's hurdling debut was Mall Dini who has subsequently won a maiden at Thurles and ran creditably in a hcap at Leop. The seventh from that race Ice Cold Soul landed a hcap at Leop over Christmas but that qualifying run can't be taken at face value.
Nambour is also a winning pointer so should also improve for this step up in trip but the form of his maiden hurdle victory was shown to be limited when Cahirconee was beaten 25 lengths by Mall Dini at Thurles and the third in that race Jury Duty has also been stuffed in a bumper subsequently.
Up for Review obviously goes well fresh but has been giving 6 weeks to recover. Some have said that his bumper form tailed off last year but that was in festival bumpers on ground with less ease than he seems to thrive on. The ground was very heavy at Fairyhouse and he won doing hand stands at a time when some of WPM's were needing their seasonal debuts.

I wasn't keen on Up For Review on debut, as see him as an out an out stayer. But that debut showed that there is a sprinkle of class in there too.
Tomorrow is made for him, and it will be a big surprise if he beat. Wish I had of seen/got the 13-8!!

Slick will you have that hundred quid in hand or has that thirty quid Leopardstown extracted from you shattered your confidence.
The fact that thirty quid was real money rather than your usual comfederate money has had a crushing affect on you.
Still I suppose its back to the betting shop for you where there are no Hooray Henry's just knowledgeable racing people.

No knowledgeable racing people in the shops I frequent wildman. Just virtual mugs. Makes me stand out somewhat, so I have to use several "disguises". You want some 12s Punchestown is off? You're buddy wonky is unsure.

20 last year, 30 this. Time to make a stand. If you went to your local tonight and bought a glass of sherry for a fiver, and you returned the following week to be faced with a 7.50 charge for the same tipple, would you cough up?

Its not expensive, the taxi fare out there would be more.
Its a days entertainment look at the entrance fee for some of these concerts, look at what they charge in Britain where you definitely won't mace in.
I was at a very ordinary meeting in Newmarket some years back,50 sterling in.

It IS expensive, that's why many did not return for a second roasting. 50 sterling? You having a laugh? Must have been for charity. I have been to dozens of English meetings, mainly around the capital, and not once did I feel ripped off by the entrance fee. I doubt you have been to Leopardstown. 13 notes for a can of coke, few chips, 2 sausages. 15 minutes to relieve yourself. Spineless "bookies" cutting prices WITHOUT laying them. You are left with crumbs unless you are Usain Bolt. The 30 notes was the last straw. NOT value for money.

" not once did I feel ripped off by the entrance fee "
That's some anodyne statement, why not tell us how much you paid in or did you have complimentary tickets.

Over a 10 year period, the least I paid in was a tenner (Wolverhampton), the most I paid in was a score (Ascot, Newbury) etc..... Top class facilities from top to bottom, AND BRILLIANT VALUE FOR MONEY. Leopardstown over Xmas have made a huge mistake. Many who were there this year WILL NOT RETURN.

Leopardstown used be a nightmare journey for me but I did attend although its a while back. Hardto credit but it used to take us three hours to get there,we used to leave home about 7.30.
I loved the course, loved the atmosphere.
Drive On Jimmy was a local horse that won us plenty when he won a bumper there over 30 years ago.

Listen, nobody is disputing it is a fantastic course, both flat and jumps. I love the place. But there does come a time when the ordinary man must make a stand. Their facilities have gone BACKWARDS, something I did not think possible. The days of Danoli in the 90s, Florida Pearl's 4th Hennessy, Hurricane's 10 out of 10 wont be forgotten.

Okay. The toilets are older than me. You are taking a risk, and a 15 minute wait, to avail of them. Price of grub and drink has escalated alarmingly, with no improvement. The "bookies" just stare at Betfair and cut BEFORE a decent ton punter can avail of the price. How can they cut, without having laid? Not right. The 6 packers are a disgrace and most of them have no interest in the racing, just getting pissed, and roaring their heads off. 15 years ago, these things did not happen, except for the toilets. As I said, enough is enough.

disappointing considering trainer was expecting better, but jesus how the fuc£ the horse was expected to win from the back on that ground is beyond me..

Did anyone hear if they inquired into the running of Sir Abbot was talking to a friend so missed one annoucment ,heard them say the the Elliot horse had a resperty problem ,shocking the way some books treat customers ,asked a bookie for 4/1 about S/Abbot freely available everywere ,he said it was 9/4 yes 9/4 and his machine was giving the wrong price. It briefly went 7/2 ,think he thought there was going to be a run on it ,he gave me my money back ,hard to believe I know ,sad thing is hes a big enough layer . JPs horses were LAST into the ring as usual ,the bell had gone for jockeys to mount and some had even left the parade ring BEFORE N/Emperor arrived in , a fine should be in order . KOA was also very late into the ring. I'm starting to feel Irish racing has become more rancid than ever in the last few days and for the first time ever was thinking of stopping betting on it.

No disrespect to Tony WR, but I think Tony said he was too short at 13-8, never mind the later prices.
Like Myska, Tony was hoping for a proper thread and was looking for debate on the horses chances. He didn't fancy him at the 13-8.
And all credit to him for sticking to his guns, and not taking a price he didn't deem big enough.

I took 5/6 and was happy to do so after looking at them in the paddock , hes a monster . I also took 2/1 about Elliots in the maiden ,another cracking looker, sadly this lad was found to be sick post race. Tony tries to get racing debates going on here like a couple of others yourself included, hopefully thingswill change for the better and the bickering among us will stop ,making the Irish forum a better place to visit ,a very happy and healthy new year to you and yours Callit..
