come on snap..lets just keep it racing opinions eh mate?
just because I have mentioned mullins poor record away from prestbury park does not mean its a automatic lay?
Report CheltenhamRoar December 29, 2015 6:07 PM GMT
Why should you be laying it Tony? Are you joking? You've just given the reason in your opening post, and have been very vociferous in letting everyone on here know how poor willies record is in the U.K. Outside of Cheltenham, why in gods name would you be even considering backing this beast tomorrow with his record outside of the festival in the uk
Report cloone river December 29, 2015 6:27 PM GMT
He has a good record with mares.Would not like to be laying her.
Report quantize December 29, 2015 6:29 PM GMT
One to watch. Usually sends the 2nd or 3rd string over to England to get a line of form with the British. The top mares will be running in Ireland. But Mullins 2nd and 3rd string would be superstars in most British yards.

I made my point in the op..highly thought of? it was meant for a discussion, taking this race into consideration, ive just checked now and 4/5 is too short imo..she may win but at that price I wont be on...

Struggling to figure out why it's odds on myself.
Ruby Rambler & Surtee Du Berlais for me look to have it between them.
Disclaimer - I am in woeful form so take no responsibility for any losses incurred following my ramblings.

May not scream value, but would be very surprised if it beaten. Thought an awful lot of. True WPM may typically send his 2nd strings over, but this one may be an exception. And WPM second string mare won last years Mares Hurdle, so....
Report gutfeeling December 30, 2015 2:35 PM GMT
On today's ground no result would be surprising surely.
Whether they think a lot of a horse or not nothing will have ran on such atrocious ground before and probably never will again.

WD Callit, You was right after all.
Report tony57 December 30, 2015 2:55 PM GMT
fair play to the mare..i did the 2nd..she is very good
Report callitasucit December 30, 2015 2:56 PM GMT
Fair performance after being free early.

She will take beating in the Dawn Run.
Report newapproach December 30, 2015 3:27 PM GMT
They have a few mares for that racenow - limini, karalee, myska and probably a few more. Is there any chance they will send Annie Power for the world hurdle and send one of the novices for the mares hurdle. Mullins said in a recent interview that annie might have a run before cheltenham he'd be more tempted to go for the world hurdle if he got a run into her.
Report callitasucit December 30, 2015 3:46 PM GMT
I would say if Thistlecrack hadn't of emerged, that would be more likely.

As it is, I imagine both he and RR are very keen to get AP the festival win she deserves.

If Ricci was to want to run a novice in a Championship race, it would/should be Douvan in the QM. He would beat UDS sideways IMO.
Report newapproach December 30, 2015 3:53 PM GMT
The world hurdle looks the one big race where they lack a real star. I think Thistlecrack looks exceptional but I could see mullins wanting to have a go at him with one of their big guns. They beat him last year with Killultagh Vic and as good as he is, they have a lot better horses than him in the yard.
Report ffs December 30, 2015 9:35 PM GMT
Newapproach - yday notwithstanding I'd think Morning Run is an obvious 2nd to Annie Power if she went to the World Hurdle
Report ffs December 30, 2015 9:44 PM GMT
Anyway - what kind of scheme are they running with this Supreme Racing Club ? .. 2400pm, and if you manage to get on a good one they're taken away as soon as they have black type - Myska will be covered this Spring, I don't know what happened to Daring Carlotta but she didn't make it past 4 bumpers. As Mullins said - Myska won't go chasing as she's very well bred (not really true, but doesn't hurt him getting to lease out) ...

I don't know who'd pay that money except a) don't know better, b) money to burn, but not to buy a cheap filly store and use a PtP trainer ...
Report Temlett December 30, 2015 10:13 PM GMT
It is a pot of gold for the operation and the likes of Parkhill gets black type for his mares without incurring any charges or risks. The key is having Mullins who will get the best out of them in a short space of time.

It is no different to Elite Racing from what I can see, where a select band of broodmares was built up at the expense of enthusiastic owners that were taken along for the ride and entertainment at considerable personal expense.

Plenty seem to enjoy it and as a result the operation thrives, but I would sooner sink the money into the Liffey than cough up the money to provide these people with their retirement funds.
Report ffs December 30, 2015 11:57 PM GMT
Temlett,

The real problem I have with it is how enthusiastically WPM associates himself with what should be barred under consumer protection.
Report ffs December 31, 2015 12:02 AM GMT
That said, there are some good syndicates you can buy into if you ask in advance of the sales, and you don't have to look very far.

Bascially, trainers who have clients who trust them to buy stores and just pay the going rate.

A lot of conflicts of interests with Leased Mares, better take 1/10th of a 20k store and bite the bullet.
Report newapproach December 31, 2015 12:36 PM GMT
Do you think morning run might have stamina doubts over 2 and a half at festival pace ffs.She looks to have bags of speed. Hopefully there was nothing wrong after her run the last day as she seems to have had lot of problems previously.

They also have vroum vroum mag as a possibility for that race, no-one seems to have a clue where she is going.I think they have to have a crack at the world hurdle with annie power, they have more than enough alternatives for the mares hurdle and novice hurdles but nothing else very obvious for the world hurdle.
Report RavishingRickRude December 31, 2015 5:48 PM GMT
Im pleased the bitterness has ebbed out of Tony's views on the Supreme Racing club since he was dishonourably discharged from their ranks......

Which horses tooth were you leasing btw 'lad' .........hope it wasn't Pique Sous ££££
