Happy Xmas Pa, best of luck for the period, I'm just going to offer one opinion and that is if Ball Darc wins a maiden hurdle at leopardstown on Stephens day then I will streak round the track and whistle Danny Boy in Irish .

By:
Very best yourself Mincer, sorry for the words in recent weeks, not too gone on Billys myself but for a variety of reasons i won't promise a streak, the other cards might have a better punt and plenty of days in the holidays but always look forward to the 26th.

Has there been a repeat of Coneygree in the Gold Cup with Vigil? Surely it should read D N Russell beside his name? I note he runs in his actual owners colours now.
I pegged Annihilate as a horse for the Down Royal bumper after his debut. As it turns out that is where he turns up. Thankfully there is some legitimate form in the race which should help with the price. This will win. Good luck to all punters over the next week or so. |
By:
TTK the colours he runs in now only bought into the horse after he won his bumper in Leopardstown. They only owned 49% until they bought the other party out 9 or 10 months ago.
By:
You sure about that BWS? I would be almost certain that I heard about his involvement in the horse prior to the Leopardstown win.
By:
You could be right but I am certain I am right on ownership issue.

We will all have Leopardstown studied to death by Saturday .
my thoughts are Race 1 Ball D'arc and Coney Island are very opposable Beau Mone or Billy's Hope are my 2 against the field Race 2 Vigil looks a probable winner TPT probably rides him out everyday at home hence the riding arrangement, Volvalien is a sporting ew bet. RACE 3 Rashaan with the double penalty looks very opposable , Footpad and Jer's Girl have both solid form but I have a sneaky feeling that e might get an outsider winning. Race 4 Dollar and a Dream looks thrown in and with his recent good UK run merits a NAP , RACE 5 Dysios seems a better horse right handed and has good track form and loads of experience, he didn't get a sweet run at FH the last day and a 7/1 PP is worth a ew punt Race 6 WOW what a contest, DOUVAN will need to be on his toes to succed here, the fractions set early will determine the outcome.lets hope they all stand up and best horse wins no selection Race 7 Bacardys ownership is of interest , a horse so well thought of is usually purchased by one of the big owners. Pat McSweeney while a very wealthy man previous horses with WPM were ex JJ Murphyd horses Bundle of Fun and Dorset Square followed by SAMBREMONT who is a good type but no star.Ex Pat Doyle horses usually perform well in bumpers . Derrynane and Thirsty Work are both of interst . BEST OF LUCK TO ALL AND A VERY HAPPY CHRISTMAS |

I did mention cryptically in passing some time last year about the real owner of vigil. as far as I am concerned he has controlled the horse for at least the last 12 months, he told me so himself. he is the man that had the publicised two big singles and doubles last spring at the festival(windsor park and vigil).
tom treacy has no ridden a winner since august 2012, and had no more than rides in recent months, how could anyone punt a horse with that element hovering in the background. I have not asked but I suspect the owner will not be sending his money to play this time.. I was studying the 5 day entries and what I found quite unusual is that on the first two days at Leopardstown there are three non juvenile maiden hurdles...willie mullins had single entries in each of the two on stephens day and none on sunday 27th...a surprise given the depth in the yard....with a toi phil dirting his bib the other day at Clonmel, the two singles entries now take up their engagement on day one. bacardys will be all the rage in the bumper, on pointing form, I would have grotesque ahead of him. this is the one bumper that willie simply cannot seem to win, I don't think he has ever trained the winner of this race, he may have ridden a winner in it in his amateur days. the ground in limerick will be gruesome after all this rain, anyone backing shorties at that fixture in handicaps deserve to be sectioned. |

Thirsty Work (Bumper ......... Saturday......) Merry Xmas

Keen Leader he didn't have a controlling share in the horse back then. Minority stake in it but with Weld and himself acting together he might aswell have had!

Fair play, nice thread and thanks to the contributers.
Almost certainly will be brutal going at Limerick and agree with the careful sentiments, the rematch between Outlander and Free Expression is worth a watch at least,if pushed i,d be on the former but likely leave alone. 2.45 Blazing West is almost an ew price, very game last time she kept finding,i think she has a chance of beating Whistling Dixie with getting the weight though i would like to see her ridden positively and drawing WD. Worth keeping an eye on the 3.40 at Wolves, think Dove Mountain is very limited but a nice touch was landed last time they travelled. Not sure was WPM just playing down Vautours chances but i thought it was a negative interview. |

Beau Mome let Snap and the Mullins team down the last time.
I don't think he ran his race, remember that same day WillieMullins bumper runner was backed to odds on and disgraced himself,he has since danved in in Navan. Beau Mome to redeem his reputation. Vigil was always owned by Furlong but has been injured A Toi Phil showed himself a boyo in Clonmek. Volvalien is representing an in form combination and will be a decent price.. Just hope Rashaan wins I can see Douvan just sitting on Ttebobs tail and zipping by on the run for home. Mullins has a shocking record in this bumper, respect Keen Leaders view on Grotesque but Mouse Morris doesn't train bumper winners. Carlitos Way could run well at a big price. |
By:
If Volvalien wins a maiden hurdle at Leopardstown on Stephens Day , then another streak is promised only this time I will whistle Danny boy in French.
Furlong did not always own Vigil and still doesn't outright. He probably may as well have had but that is neither here nor there. |
By:
Mouse Morris is 2/46 in bumpers since 2008
First Lieutenant Gowran 06/03/2010 and Alamein Thurles 19/03/2015 both favourite 4/5 and 15/8 Thirsty Work is my selection |
By:
Wildman Vigil wasn't always owned by Furlong. Get your facts right.
By:
Ttebob has no chance in the chase. Sizing John is a cert in a match bet against him.
Wouldn't be surprised to see him finish last and I actually think he will. |
By:
Mincer I think he does own it outright now. They hounded the previous owner out of it!
By:
He claims to own Windsor Park as well.
By:
BEAU mome is an intresting one. huge home reputation but failed badly fto.wpm claiming he was sick i read somewhere.its amazing how powerless you are when theres no shops open(or not near one).bf sp book went 9/2 yesterday and pp 4s but i was offered under a tenner max ..in one case well under a tenner!! i see its 3s now..still not totally convinced by it tho..
By:
Apologies bigwilly, you are 100 % correct. The carpet man owns the horse in full.

Vautour will win. Jumping won't be an issue, sure didn't Kauto jump slightly out to his left around there. He'll be out in front anyway.
By:
Davy Russell gave Grotesque a pretty strong mention in his Betway column.
By:
Beau Mome will win.
Forget what happened the last day, very valid excuse. If he does what he does at home, he will win this doing handstands. Have visited many shops, and had my biggest bet for quite awhile at various prices. |

theres a interview with mullins talking about most of his horses over xmas..on racingtips.com..i don't know if its been out for a day oe 2 already?

dont often post but happy christmas to all, keen leader was singing your praises in the club there about your post of wpm not training the winner of the bumper but may have ridden them and was a horse to maybe avoid on stephens day but was thinking back to what he may have ridden and it registered he trained and rode wither or witch in 94 i think new years eve the whole meeting was abandoned and they held the Denny card on that day actual 26th card didn't go racing ever at christmas then but we were starved of racing both sides of Irish sea at that time we went down on that day and as R.sinclair was the family soliciter got takling to him and they expected good things with it.
