Cracking card at Navan.

The novice hurdle is worth travelling for alone.

I know I've bleated on about Stone Hard and Tycoon Prince before, but I am honestly baffled about the price of Bellshill. 1.43 against this pair, with an exciting sort from Roches thrown in aswell??

Fu**in madness IMO.

If someone told me for Xmas, I could take home two of the 3 principles in this, I would take Stone Hard and Tycoon Prince all day long. Yes their real future lies in 3m chasing, but I would be in no way surprised if one of them wins a Gold Cup.

Bellshill won his maiden very impressively, but it was the proverbial egg and spoon. I wouldn't be hugely convinced that he wants 2m4f in an absolute bog tomorrow either. Of course he might win, but I wouldn't even have him favourite, never mind 2-5.

Tycoon has to be forgiven his last run, but as a backer the last day, I was never happy. He was never travelling. That makes it much easier to excuse, as the world and his mother knows he's better than that. Had he been beat a hard fought 2 length by Thomas Hobson, having travelled well...well then maybe that would be as good he is.

He is a lot better.

Stone Hard was behind Bellshill in the Champion Bumper, but started well backed at 4points shorter than his stablemate. It was a non event for both of them. Has anything happened since to suggest there should be the gulf between them in the betting that there is tomorrow??

Not for me. Stone Hard is going to relish tomorrows test.

I cant wait for it!! Just hope there is no more rain, and it goes ahead. Bellshill may well win, he is a proper good horse himself. But I am more than prepared to pay to find out.

Gangster should win down in Cork. Forget Galway, he wasn't right and never travelled. Like Tycoon Prince, that was very easy to forgive. He got back on track the last day, will relish the stamina test tomorrow, and should have far too much class for these.

Great write up Callit, enjoyed your synopsis . I also find myself agreeing with you re Bellshill ,he never should be that short with 2 really tough horses taking him on,I'm a layer at that price. Also taking on Ttebbob although he looked impressive  @ Thurles I still think he has it all to do here and is no odds on shot imo against two decent horses ,one i will be backing is Mckinley , I'll never forget the turn he did me at Naas at a huge price . A good thread .

Wonks backing horses out of loyalty cause it's done him a turn before, deary me, I've heard it all now,
That's the type of talk ye come to hear in your local paddy power which is frequented by the mug punter,
You will never be taken seriously on here or garnish and sort of respect with that kinda betting strategy Laugh

I am thinking of giving Tycoon prince another go, to be fair ran very poor here the last time but was reported as scoping badly afterwards at the price of 4/1 worth a shot.

Cheers snap, well up for the day now.
By the way I'm a massive layer of McKinley, over rated on his hurdles and isn't bred for chasing, I'll be amazed if he wins and if he remains over fences for long.

Lads I know it's not saying much but I'm laying tycoon prince in the next just don't fancy it at all looked like he had enough last time out and looks the type to go backwards from here, won't be winning here, massive lay.

Doomsday book another flat bred horse jumping fences, when will these people ever learn?
As I though with McKinley, useless, fluked a grade 1 over hurdles last season, that was a poor beginners chase as was almost proved when edwulf would have p!ssed up. Great day so far lads Grin

Two selections on here both won coupled with a lay that was beaten.

Bellshill won well. Tycoon very disappointing again. No surprise Bells drifted markedly from last nights price.

Anyone else think Townend unseat was very poor?

Tttebbob was very impressive again. Considering the conditions, and how legless Lord Scoundrel was, the winner threw some leap at the last. If he goes to Leop at Xmas, he will be no pushover. Mouthwatering contest if he does.
