With five tournament's this week we are spoilt for choice, I'm going to just concentrate on the main event in Europe this week were i'm going to back 5 big price selections against a star studied field,
1st selection Bello 125/1 e/w, he broke my heart last year after blowing a lead on the back nine, here's hoping for a different outcome this year,
2nd selection,Peter Uihlein 66/1 e/w,his game is slowly coming back to hand,
3rd selection Ross Fisher 66/1 e/w,another player who has show some good performance over the last few weeks,
4th selections Olesen 80/1,a player who's season has been plagued by injury,has shown some glimpse of his old form over the last month or so, at the price he worth a bet in a 60 runner field,
5th selection,Martin Kaymer 50/1 e/w, too big a price for a class player who could be challenging over the weekend if he has a solid start,

Still get 'nam like flashbacks about RCB's meltdown. Of the big 3 I think Stenson is the solid bet EW bet. 7/1 long gone now though. Rose & Rory not putting well enough IMO. Grillo 60 - Has form in the desert and has the "W" monkey of his back after 2 recent wins. Lowry 60 - 2 poor events in a row sees his odds tumble to a very tempting 60. Oosthuizen 36 - Small stakes. If he putts anyway decent he will be thereabouts. |

The DP World Championship is much better fare, and also more competitive. Maybe.
No doubt that one could make a case for plenty in this field of European stars, but there are also quite a few that have big question marks. Danny Willet looks to be all golfed out at the moment. He will certainly be putting it all in to try and lift the RTD, but has looked fatigued. There are plenty who just don't have the artillery to tame this beast, and there are others like Miguel Angel Jimenez who simply have no chance. Henrik Stenson as back to back champion is probably the logical starting point, but I just don't think he is playing well enough to land the hat trick. He finished well on Sunday last week, but was never really in contention. At 11-2 I can certainly leave him alone. On the other hand I believe Rory McIlroy and Justin Rose are worth getting stuck into. Both come here on the back of similar types of performances. Not quite at the peak of their 'iron powers' and both guilty of missing too many short putts. But both still showed their class by finishing on the tails of the winner. Rose played poorly I thought last week, his irons were very poor. I have little doubt that will be rectified this week, on a course he relishes. Even given that out of character performance from the fairways, he still missed out on a playoff only due to two missed 4 footers in his last 6 holes. He is going to close this week. Rory comes here having taken last week off, and that could be the winning of it. Unlucky with food poisoning two weeks ago, he still would have gone close had he holed even near an average amount of putts from 5-10 feet. That may happen again, but with him arriving in Dubai early, having a healthy prep, absolutely loving the track, and being mad eager to prove himself....I think we are going to see a vintage McIlroy performance. Only once out of the top 5 in 6 starts here, 5-1 e.w looked a steal. I don't really fancy Shane Lowry too much tbh, but I had thought he would go very close to winning this, until his couple of abject performances. But because of that his price has drifted and that combined with the fact I would love him to win, and would be sick if I wasn't on...I added him. If he holes a few putts early, it may give him the belief he can go and do it. He certainly has the talent. 6pts e.w Rory McIlroy 5-1 4pts e.w Justin Rose 8-1 .8pt e.w Shane Lowry 40-1 As we all know there is no such thing as a certainty I any sport, least of all a two ball between two professional golfers who are both capable of shooting any score form 60-80. But given the current set of circumstances, I would be surprised if Thomas Pieters didn't beat Miguel Angel Jimenez in 9 out of 10 bouts around here. Pieters is a debutant here, but everything about the place screams that he will take to it like a duck to water. He comes here in fine form, and its hard to envisage a first round blow out. Jimenez is in terrible form, no part of his game is in good shape. Yes, it can come together at any stage, but a senior tour representative, who is strugglimg for confidence on the greens and is playing his 5th week on the trot at a venue which stretches his game at the best of times.....this doesn't look that time. Pieters could finish as low as 55th out the 60 starters after round one, and still land this. 8-13 is a cracking price. 8pts Pieters 6.25am 2 ball 8-13 |

The 28-1, or 33s in SJ, is very big on Danny Lee in the Dunlop. Only a shot behind Matsuyama who is only 5s.

Despite the 17th Rory wins again , likes the Race to Dubai title , 3 years out of 4 . Won that easily at finish , beating Sullivan was a bit tighter . Roll on 2016 , hope he stays injury free . Good speech there too .

Was an excellent performance from both Rory and Sullivan. Thought Rory had chucked it away on 17, horrible shot. Sullivan is definitely one to keep onside when in the mix. Very good attitude with balls aplenty. Rory had to shoot 13 under for the weekend to take him down. He can be very happy with his performance. Not a 'sexy' player in the markets eyes like a Koepka style big hitter, he is a far better player than many will acknowledge. If he stays on the Euro Tour full time next year, he will surely win another couple. Good to see Rory back to his best. He was really flushing it over the weekend, and the putting was very solid all week. |

With two more fields mostly full of dross this week, a fantastic punting proposition presents itself.
An e.w double of Adam Scott in Oz and Charl Schwartzel in SA is as good a bet as you will find. Will post my reasoning when have more time tomorrow, but I am going to have a good go at it in the meantime!! Both 13-2 in quite a few places. |
