Yesterday was a strange surreal day in wexford town, wexford opera festival is on with lots of tourists strolling around
Etc john and jack butler **** exhibition is one of many to visit while working up a thirst and hunger for lunch and dinner.The carrickmines fire tragedy funerals made this friday very different with police closing roads , police directing traffic,police walking around main street etc , locals walked with a quicker stride hurried into there daily tasks nodding and whispering to each other shuffling along in an uncomfortable manner eyes scanning each individual on street etc
Every single pub i seen was closed and hotels had extra security guards all contributing to a horrible edgy feeling

Aye shocking that the local businesses are forced into closing their establishments and tourists have nothing to do due to an influx of pikeys, i wonder was it the same in Bray the other day?
Love the biased reporting of this tragedy by the new channels, they where all lovely families loved by everyone in their community etc......., absolute ballacks as anybody with half a brain knows. |

Agree,i asked a police man yesterday why cant they police the citizens all year round not just on special occassions ,had no anserw and just moved on. Bizarre non policy island

Pure balls, that weekend is a part of what makes or breaks a year for some businesses I'm sure. What we can do about it, I don't know, though.
