She was the owner of Golden Miller ( winner of 5 Cheltenham Gold Cups and a Grand National ) Straight Deal ( Epsom Derby winner ) Ballymacoll Stud ( birthplace of the great Arkle ) and a prodigious appetite.

She was an eccentric millionaire and a huge gambler but she slept during the day mostly.

She had a private arrangement with Willam Hill where she could back horses that had already run that day.

This arrangement is not unlike Slicksters one in his challenge when he tips heavy odds on shots ( a 1/12 shot today ) but only announces it well after the race is over.
