All about the horse there.
He is a stayer in the making and was tapped for a bit of toe but picked up well again. Manning looked for a minute like he felt the horse was weakening and the gap closed on him, partly because he was not vigorous enough to maintain that position. He then had to switch and once the horse started staying on again he got after him to get up on the line. These rides are easily praised when you see the closing stages and hard driving, but there was nothing special about it. The horse will be a lovely middle distance type next year. |
