Penultimate event of the fed ex series is back to 2013 venue again and allegedly they have toughened up the landing aareas with new bunkers, which may or may not negate the big hitters.
2013 champion, Zach Johnson has been in great form since his open championship win and his wwedge play is second to none and putting stats are rarely outside top 30 week on week, he,s my idea of a winner this week.
A man who has lost his during the summer is Patrick Reed, won early in season and threw away a few tournament's later on but has shown signs of turning the corner in his last few events. Can be streaky so I,all chance him the next few weeks.

Another links style course to look forward to this week so US and British Open form could be worth following:
Zach Johnson 25/1 In excellent form since winning @ St Andrews and won @ this course in 2013.
Patrick Reed 40/1 In poor form all year as Deplasterer has said but started showing spark again @ Chambers Bay and continued that with T6 last week.
Louis Oosthuizen 50/1 Put his injury problems to one side this year and has played brilliantly including play off @ St Andrews. Will be suited by this type of test.
Robert Streb 80/1 Has been in excellent form since a decent showing @ British Open and tends to play well @ seaside course where the wind blows hard.
Russell Know 100/1 Another excellent wind player who will be suited by this weeks test. Decent showing last week also.
Good Luck.

As Jim Furyks 59 showed two years ago, the birdies are out there, but Rory McIlroys 77 on the same day shows that if you don't hit the right part of the greens, there are big numbers out there too.
Quotes from the players all seem to suggest this is a real second shot golf course with tricky greens. Reminds me of Augusta.
With that in mind I am more than prepared to forgive this years sensation Jordan Spieth 4 bad rounds. Indeed he is of the opinion they were not as bad as the scores suggest. I didn't fancy him for either of those assignments in any case as his thoughts had to on being ready and fresh for the Tour Championship next week. No matter how poorly he fared in the first two playoff events, he was still going to be in the all important top 5 come next week.
He will surely now have the game face again on after the week off. The course promises to fit like a glove. He played nicely here two years ago, and will be confident of going more than a few places better. He started 6-1 fav for the first playoff event. 4 bad rounds later and he is suddenly out to 14, and 4th favourite? Behind perennial bridesmaid Henrik Stenson.
The more the days pass the more confident I am getting that Jordan will do the business this week.
Rory McIlroy may be in need of another 4 competitive rounds before he reaches fever pitch. This course also wouldn't jump out as one where you would be getting stuck into him. His huge length off the tee will be negated here, and putting will be of more importance than 350 yard drives. So too will approaches from 120 yards in.
One player who will relish this challenge is defending champion Zach Johnson. Well, not really defending champion, but the last winner here in 2013.
His confidence will still be sky high having backed up his British Open success with a few prominent finishes. There are few better in the game on a course like this than Zach, and early quotes of 30-1 where well wide of the mark. Danny Lee has grown on me the past few months. Getting the Win under his belt has seemed to transform him into a different player. He too has been very accurate of late, and his iron and wedge play are a joy to watch. Expect him to pepper many a flag this week, and if the putter gets hot, he will be right in contention come Sunday evening.
Hideki Matsuyama, like Spieth, has shown his liking for Augusta and also for another 'second shot golf course' in the shape of Muirfield Village. He has played a lot of golf this year, and that would be a slight worry, but hopefully the week off and the prospect of this venue has revitalised him.
I expect both Lee and Matsuyama to get off to fast starts today, and may add them in the first round leader market.
I thought I backed Jim Furyk at 22s on Monday. But having loaded up that particular account earlier to do a 3 ball bet, I found I never struck the bet. I wont back him now at 18s, so he is probably a cert!! His chance is obvious, a 59 here two years ago along with him having a Fazio course at home, show that he will obviously relish the test. He also comes here in excellent shape. 13-8 for a top ten finish for one of his consistency probably isn't a bad bet.

Danny Lee, Hideki Matsuyama and Paul Casey all look good 3 ball bets this evening.
Lee has been in superb form of late, starting well on many occasions. Justin Rose makes the market here. A notoriously slow starter, he has appeared to go slightly off the boil in his last two starts, and may struggle on these greens.
Matsuyama has McIlroy and Snedeker to beat. Rory takes a good chunk out of the market and I feel he may be vulnerable today. Sned may indeed prove a bigger danger, but he has struggled in his last few outings, and may be in wind down mode.
Casey has had many a good Thursday of late, and can be expected to go well this week. I will be surprised if he doesn't account for Moon Bae and Bowditch.

Cracking first days viewing. Unreal golf from Jason Day, and a remarkable back 9 recovery from Jordan Spieth.
Shame Matsuyama had such a poor round. It is starting to look like a long season has caught up with him. Lee done the business nicely, and Casey looks like following suit.
Only one firm priced up at moment in todays battle of Johnson n Johnson, and they go evens on Zach to prevail. That looks a good bet to me, and there is realistic hope that someone else may go 11-10. There is a case to be made that todays softer conditions will help the bombers, but it is not a long course and the soft greens will be like meat and drink to one o Zachs talents. It should be a dart throwing contest, and there is no one better than the 2 time major winner in that department.
Throw in that DJ seems to be just going through the motions, and Zach should certainly be closer to 4-6 IMO.
