A bad Sunday cost me a packet last Sunday. That 18th hole....

Whyndham Champ.

Top 20
Gonzalo Fdez Castano 10/1 - I've been banking the Gonzo drum for the last few weeks and although he hasn't got in serious contention there has been an upturn in form after a poor start to the season. Needs a Top 2 finish here to get into playoffs. Unlikely, but I can see him playing well again.

I'm getting pretty fed up at backing 2nds, and 6ths when 5 places, and 7ths when 6 places myselfLaugh

I think Brandt Snedeker and Ryan Moore both have very solid credentials this week. Both have good course form, and come here off the back off decent weeks at a track whose length was most certainly against them.

Snedeker as I have said before has a very good record the week after majors, and holed an absolute monster on the 18th last week to send him here in high spirits.

Moore had a fine Sunday himself, and it is this type of event, where the biggest names are missing that he usually banks his wins.

Its a long time since I backed Tiger Woods with anything other than hope, but I really do think he can go well this week. Majors are obviously a huge mental block for him at the moment, but otherwise he has been making steady progress. He has a Top 2 finish as a target this week, to prolong his season, and I think he might just do it. He is no 50-1 shot in my book.

Backed these on Monday, and had planned on leaving it at that, though am close to adding Webb Simpson and Jonas Blixt.

1.6pts e.w Brandt Snedeker 18-1 (6 places)
.6pt e.w Tiger Woods ( 6 places)
.8pt e.w Ryan Moore 40-1

Good Luck All.

Ryan Moore looks a cracking bet for his 3 ball today.

23-20 in the shops, or a few quid available at 2.32 on here.

4pts Moore 23-20

Have laid the Tiger @ 4.3 it what is in truth a poor field , after his great start to this tournament he'll NEVER have a better chance to win again imo .I just don't think he still has it and will pay my pieces of silver if he does..

Wish tiger had of done it last week as he let me down for a nice make the cut acca. Anyway its good to see him playing well again. Great for the game.

Left a few out there on the greens tonight. The 3 putt on the last was cruel.

His driving was top notch. If he is that good off the tee tomorrow, he will have plenty of chances.

Jesus I would love to see him win.

Anything odds against on Soren Kjeldsen in what is effectively a match in his 10.20 3 ball in the morning looks worth taking.

Paul Lawrie has shown improved form of late, but hasn't been in contention often, and hasn't really impressed when he has. Kjeldsen has been in the hunt plenty, and consistently gone to the line very well. 5-4 is a good bet.

4pts Kjeldsen 3 ball 5-4

I think people are slowly getting the message that betting on golf is for the birds, Davis love for gods sake. How in gods name could you fancy him, the way this game is going Arnold Palmer is due a win sometime soon.
Report pa lapsy August 24, 2015 12:06 PM BST
Mincer,he was impossible to pick beforehand but it was a different story last night with the way it was panning out ie he was finished and other than the back par 5 the other holes were playing tough, given he was considered he was generally past his sell by date he was always "overpriced". He was still around 5/1 after eagleing the 15th which put him in the lead.
Some achievement for him.
Report applehunter August 24, 2015 12:16 PM BST
Top 10 was made up of plenty fancied players here and elsewhere.

Course form & current form to the fore.

I think its the beauty of golf betting that you can get a 1000/1 winner. Doesn't happen in other major sports.
Report frank60 August 24, 2015 2:26 PM BST
Well said Applehunter, I backed Davis love at the start of the golf  season without much luck, i had a bad year betting wise but POD winning the HONDA got me out for the year , Well done to the regular golf forum lads who win or lose make the golf posts one of the best on the irish sports forum.
