Power's wouldn't price it up. They said such a market would cause scenes reminiscent of those on a migrant ship when the Le Niamh comes into view.

Funnily enough I'd give his one in the next a good chance. Shark is competing against his own class of operator today.

Was 5/4 to have no winner in  Bruces.  Wouldnt lay be €400

I didn't see the race.

No-one rates the Shark. I'd rather be laying him in Ireland though than in mick races at the UK summer tracks. That's the level he is at. Them races are so unimaginably bad though it wouldn't surprise me if he had a winner though with Dickie on board.

He's not fussed who rides them either. Johnson, the worst man to present a horse at an obstacle.

That's exactly what I mean Tony. Santa will be coming down the chimney before he has another winner in Ireland. Different kettle of fish across the water though. There's horses winning races in England that the hounds wouldn't look at.

Tony there is without question no worse than that clown Johnson, if the animal rights crowd saw or could see what that muppet asks horses to do at fences and hurdles they would be uproar, end of, clerkmore is spot on in his post

Hello Tony, there aren't many worse at presenting horses at obstacles. He's strong in a finish, I'll grant you that, but if I was looking for a jockey he'd be away down the pecking order.

clekmore gemini01,
funny how opinions differ, I see a lot of him and as you say in a finnish there is very good, presenting them at a fence, no that's tricky, im not so down on him as you are but see what your saying,he rode a few of hobbs good novices from the front the beginning of last season trying to make all and it worked for him, hes going to be champ this season..?

Hardly KR, the conversation has evolved. Why would he continue talking about something which is not the current subject.

Do you follow?

I really don't think you know what you are talking aboutWink

Tony you mention about the few good novices that he won on for Hobbs at the beginning of last season, what about all the nice novices that he destroyed belonging to Hobbs down through the years, i suppose they slipped your mind completely, One Knight that won the RSA chase, Captain Chris a horse he tried to helicopter land it on a fence in Exeter in the Haldon Gold Cup and Noble Request are three that spring to mind and i know there are many more that i have not mentioned and there is a nice horse Garde Le Victorie that will get the full Johnson treatment this year once he goes novice chasing!!!

The fact that Johnson might be champion in the UK tells you all you need to know about the standard there.

sorry lads I disagree ithink your harsh on him, the standard with jumps here is decent, you only have to see who Elliot wants on his horses over here if he carnt get his main one?elliot is number 2 to mullins.im not going threw the list of decent jocks this side but theres enough..

Ah Tony ffs get a grip will you,the standard with jumps there is kak and that is being kind to it, and as for Elliot getting Johnson all the time is boollocks, the only reason thats happening at the moment is Maguire is injured and McCoy and Condon have retired, when they were riding Tricky Dickie was not getting a look in and as for your decent jocks based there, are you having a laugh, there is lads in Ireland that would ride their english counterparts to sleep, sure most of them are Irish anyway over there, bar dicky and tom scu, the rest are hobos. How on earth could you compare Walsh, Geraghty, Cooper,Lynch, Burke and Townsend to what in england.....
By:

When: 14 Aug 15 17:37
for me townend is the best with geraghty..but the standard here as I said is decent..never did I say it was better than Ireland? ruby was the best there was for the last 10 years..and is still as good as any..but hes close to finishing,as you said the lads over here are irish..so you kind of made my point.
By:
Clerkmore
When: 14 Aug 15 17:56
The best jocks in the UK are Irish who couldn't get decent jobs in Ireland!
By:

When: 14 Aug 15 18:36
I am a bit bewildered as to what you point is Tony? There is not much sign of R Walsh being near close to finished the way he rode the winner of the 6.20 Tramore..... Its all about opinions i suppose, but the two you picked Townsend and Geraghty would be well down my picking order of top jockeys
By:
tony57
When: 14 Aug 15 19:02
that's your opinion..
my point was you said the jocks this side of the pond are crap..i say most are decent..i repeat I never said they were better than Ireland, and I defend dickie Johnson , as ive said I think your harsh..but its your opinion.

ruby will pack in soon, just because hes riding well does not mean he wont stop? imo he wont ride on past 2016-17.if he is lucky enough to not get anymore bad injurys..

When: 15 Aug 15 10:54
I thought Ruby might be thinking about finishing up in a year or so too. But given what he thinks about Vautour, he wont be going anywhere whilst he is still on the scene.

Hopefully that is quite a few years yet.

The going is too good, he can't go. Mullins is set to nail Nicholls and Henderson to the wall. He'll go on as long as he can, as long as he ain't injured, could see him still there in 5 years.

Top tennis players and boxers are going on miles longer now, a fall can change everything of course but that goes for anyone, he will be around for ages yet barring that. Sure hasn't he Cooper nearly broken as well!
