There will be some very long faces if Our Joy doesn't win the 3:15 in Wolverhampton. Strongly expected to oblige and a repeat of it's debut will see it home comfortably.
Got a poor trip but she's starting to be one that may need to be filed in the disappointing category. Had been shaping like a group class filly in the Spring.

Ah Kirby was expecting her to hose up so I imagine that's why he sat in behind rather than gunning her to the front. She was 2nd best on the day probably but wouldn't have won in any event.

that maiden race was full of potential winners, the price was terrible, priced up on a smart second at sandown, didnt look like a standout form to me, plus that run in the big race was another negative. the other kodiac was matched at half its price IR.
the winner bred by shamardal, take a look at the flat racing sires table, you will see that is one of the most prolific stallions rate that so extremely highly, gotta be considered number 1 this season for me, on the variables that interest me. winners to wins ratio is out of the stratosphere
UNLUCKY

Didn't really sit in behind though, just sat 5 wide. Had he dropped anchor out of stalls and came straight across, he could have rode a race. But when he got the jump, he just sat out there hoping to get in. Letting Buick dictate when that would be. When he did decide to come in, it was just about time to come back out. Whether he thought he was on a good thing or not, he certainly didn't maximise her chances of success, and would have been trading quite a bit bigger than BSP from after a furlong when he had hung himself out.

Congratulations on fielding an opinion before the race RR. Would have said that her 2nd to Kassia (subsequently 5th in the Queen Mary) on debut when she should have won was the standout form and certainly entitled her to be fav for a Wolverhampton maiden (albeit the SP was tight though the real money was on @ 2's). Her ascot run was easily forgiven as she didn't handle the occasion and her work since suggested she was back on point.
Watched it again Callit and he glanced across after a furlong in an attempt to tack in and be handy. The pack up front was unusually tight though for a maiden. From there he decided to stay wide in mid div rather than gun it or break jaw. Can understand that choice. Basically it was a race where he was never going to be able to do the right thing from the draw given how the race panned out.

Yeah he was hostage to fortune the way it panned out, and he prob expected there to be less competition on his inside, but I just feel he just let things happen from there rather than try make things happen. He never went with a plan B, just let an already failed Plan A evolve.
Though the winner sh1t in, and wouldn't have been beaten in any circumstances imo.
Interested in Noble Peace later on. After a very good debut, I backed it on its second run. Trainer announced shortly before race that he was short of a gallop or two, and was even 'fat'. Taking it for granted that he has him ready now, I would be surprised if he didn't fulfil his debut promise tonight.

I can certainly see why you would fancy him. The debut run was promising and definitely good enough to win a maiden. If that is correct about his second run then he is well entitled to draw in in an average enough looking race. Didn't see the Windsor run but judging by race comments he gave way only late. They go for home early in Windsor and any fitness issues generally get exposed there. Henry Candy's yard is in decent nick and they usually progress with racing.
