14.35 Group 2 Superlative stakes

It looks competitive according to the betting with all 9 runners priced at 12/1 or less. The form horse initially looks to be the Coventry fourth (Beaverbrook) for the in form but unpredictable Mark Johnston stable, the fact it took four runs to shed his maiden tag suggests that form could be flattering.

Birchwood dismissed Beaverbrook with absolute contempt at Newbury in a conditions race despite not getting the clearest of runs. He is massively overpriced at 10/1 with PP because of his run at Naas which can be easily forgiven as he clearly didn't handle the rain softened ground, remains with serious potential.

Air Vice marshall a son of the somewhat maligned War Front couldn't have won any easier at Gowran. That form to read literally isn't up to much but the potential was clear to see and massive improvement is likely in  this moderate Group 2.

15.25 - John Smith's Cup

Mount Logan got an absolute stones of a ride in the Wolferton from Andrea Atzeni, claimer merely has to keep the partnership intact on this unexposed New Approach colt to land the spoils here.

Selections
14.35- Air Vice Marshall 4.0 points win at 3.8 (/BF exch)
14.35 -Birchwood 1 point ew @10/1 (PP)

15.25 - Mount Logan - 2 points ew @ 9/1
15.25- Balty Boys - 0.5 points ew @ 16/1 (5 places)

Bad Saturday last week so only 50 odd points in profit since Punchestown, probably losing at ISP Wink

mount logan weak enough in betting.i doubt he just has to keep him straight/intact to win this wide open handicap but agree over the brain dead ride he got in ascot.the 3lbs a big help too...some are doing 5 places..a better than normal ew bet id be thinking..

ive only had a look at the 3 jumps races @Tipperary, and @5/4 ive backed EXARRO, although beaten @odds on lto this race looks a match and the o'brien horse has run poorly over hurdles and has a penalty..akito may be the e/w bet..
best of luck

I had a big Gordon Gecko head on me up til yesterday evening,as always you get a nice slice of humble pie at some stage.
Nice card at Tipp for a Saturday with a bit of everything.
Snap Click 2.40 ew at 4/1 is my pick, hoping he can defy a 7lb penalty and on the basis of that Gowran win it was deserved,he quickened up well and always nice to see the ears pricked at the line. Consistent til then his trainer blamed bad draws for not getting off the mark before.
Of the rest glad to see Shabra Emperor a n/r, Our Jock has dropped to a fairer mark and the Curragh run looks decent now with a few winners coming from that race.was a poor handicap at Limerick that Annie Irish won,she did it in good manner, making up a fair bit of ground for a decisive win.Like to think Snap Click holds Athassel on a line through Sofi,s Spirit and also Knights Templar as 7lb better for near 4Lths at Roscommon.
Hoping the penny has dropped with Snap Click and i'd be surprised if he is unplaced.

Sweet Divine, ever hear of tongue in cheek Love.

I truly believe that in a 20 runner hcap that is almost 10/1 the field that the partnership must be merely kept intact and hence had my standard staking units.

I'm taking you on in that 2.40 race pa, I've backed annie irish. Two good runs last twice when 3rd and 1st after which the trainer reported a marked improved in her homework to explain the massive improvement in form. She still progressive and can win again off this mark. NSnap click on the other hand took 17 go's to get his head in front and looked frustrating. Winning 2 in a row in this stronger race is a big ask imo.

Money for marnane's is very interesting.Good runs at dundalk but very disappointing at leopardstown subsequently. I suspected he might be better on all weather but strong money at local track says otherwise. Very surprised that oor jock is favourite, would have snap click, annie and o mara's horse ahead of him.

Annie was very weak NewsApproach, twice in 2 days i ,m slaggin Manning but that was poor again though without a replay yet, he seemed to get hampered on the bend turning in.

I was always a massive manning fan but definitely not riding well atm, especially at the highest level. The rain was possibly against both our selections, the winners best form is on easier ground. I would expect a change in ground after that race.
