Just for the heads up.

Betfair are now passing on a 1.5% charge on deposits to the website.

Caught me out today.

I may be wrong but I think they are the only major betting site doing this?

I use one of those prepaid cards to keep my gambling money separate.

I'm already charged to top up the card as well as well as the govt. charge every year.

And now I am being charged to use the card.

Didn't they do this before and the 1.5% was returned? Accept they have charges but to pay to have a bet is a bit rich.

Really sorry, there's been a technical issue with Irish debit cards today. Any customer charged 1.5% on these deposits will be refunded ASAP

YOU read the title of the thread again ya dummy. What does the first word say? And you're on here 13 YEARS?????????? And while you're at it you'd wanna read Dan's explanation on the 1st at 23.27. It's in dark black so even you can't miss it!

So the question must be asked. How the **** have you been charged a 1.5% commission for 13 YEARS when this was just an error for ONE DAY???!!!!! Yet more attention seeking from this utter fool. And i have the same card as you dopey and have not been charged any commission!!! To say this is baffling is an understatement.

So you are saying that when you deposit with your VISA card you are NOT charged 1.5 % ?.

Visa card deposits are charged at 1.5% as Workrider says.

Visa Debit card deposits are free, but they had an issue with them the other day as outlined above.

Slickster clearly using a debit card.

Why would you use a credit card on here?

Most if not all credit card firms (certainly the likes of Avant Card) will process it as a cash transaction and charge 1.25% or a stated minimum in addition to the incredible interest rates on cash transactions. Adding 1.5% fee on top of that and any interest makes it very expensive. I am not sure how it works in terms of paying the bill, but I think cash transactions are subject to interest straight away rather than allowing a month or so for payment?

Cheers Dan and Temlett for clearing that up. Wonky muddying the waters again poor chap. Not making himself clear again. Get yourself a Visa DEBIT card wonks. Silly fool still stuck in the 20th century Grin
