An absolute legend.
I was always a massive Denman fan, but really grew to love Kauto. His list of successes borders on the unbelievable. A class act, and an absolute warrior.
I was in the Denman camp for their first meeting, and thought KS didn't run his race that day, he helped make it one probably the most anticipated GC of my time anyway. The silence when they circled at the start was deafening. You could have heard a pin drop.
His Betfair win, and subsequent last win in the King George were just as memorable, when he finally got the public adoration his undoubted brilliance deserved.
