If ever we need an example of more competition on the High St I have a good example

Done a €2 Lucky 15 in PP’s on Sunday and backed 3 horses in the UK and Cape Clear Island in The French Derby, one of the horses won in the UK (3/1) and other 3 lost... So went to collect my bet expecting 3 times the odds on my 1 winner i.e. 9/1 but was handed €8 .when I queried this the shop manager she says we are only paying 3 times the odds on UK & Irish racing now (seemingly PP have withdrawn 3 times odds from all other countries according to manager last couple of weeks)
I pointed out to the Manager that my winner was in the UK but she said because I had backed Cape Clear in France that treble odds do not apply. After a too and fro with the Manager she paid me the Treble odds but on leaving the shop I said to myself Laddies had tried this a few years ago pulling treble odds in some of their shops and looked what happened to them
Maybe if PP offered genuine offers to customers in their shops and got rid of Money back as a free bet if your horse is 2nd at Portman Park provided you’re wearing a Red Rose and carrying a copy of the Daily Telegraph when placing your bet I might return to their shop
