The last selections of the week due to time constraints and commitments.

I'll hand the baton back to those with more spare time after tomorrow.

Haters gonna hate Wink

15.40 Naas- Coolmoore War Command 6f Listed race

Air Vice Marshal - Debutant who is appropriately by war front but he will have to be their Coventry horse to beat the form horses here.
He holds some fancy entries including the railway and national stakes. His full brother Mosler was a  prolific miler.

Auld Enemy - -220,000 purchase son of Fastnet Rock who made all at Navan over 5 furlongs on debut. The runner up day that day was Black Beach who has subsequently franked the form by finishing a creditable third in the Marble hill.

Argentero - Son of Zoffany who was impressive on debut on rain softened ground, had to wait for the gaps but traveled like a good one.
He confirmed that potential when running second to Round two at Naas (traded 1.3 IR) and was conceding 4lbs to the winner. Lyons maintains he will be better on good ground.
A major player but can't always read form literally, more than likely Bolger has been bringing RT along gradually and the proximity of Waterloo bridge might raise another question.

Birchwood - I love this dark angel colt,he's uncomplicated travels and has an electric turn of foot. He was impressive on his debut at Doncaster but I was massively impressed by him slamming decent opposition in a conditions event at Newbury, didn't get the run of the race and was easily 7-10 lbs superior to the opposition, I had a feeling that was a strong race and my viewpoint has been vindicated subsequently, four horses have subsequently run,the second third and eight have all won and the 4th ran creditably in a hot listed race at Sandown.

Hopefully Lordan will provide the pace and James Doyle (not always the case imo) is really switched on like he was on Al Kazeem. Fahey's decent filly won on this card a couple of years back.

Stakes:
Birchwood: 4 points win @2/1
Argento: 2.5 points win at 3/1

2 Clear form horses but haven't gone for the straight dutch

This is your third recent thread and is an excellent summary of the race.

Your previous two were also excellent, its kind of irrelevant that they all won but the threads were informative and accurate.

I have always acknowledged your racing knowledge and admire it but your comments about cleansing the forum ruined them for me.

Your pursuit of Pa Lapsy is even worse, here we have the best forum contributor being hounded off, this is crazy.
Pa Lapsy is a great judge of the market and a great race reader ( not unlike yourself ) we need posters like that.

I give what to some are obnoxious opinions so I get posters hassling me,I put myself in that area so accept any criticisms but Pa Lapsy has been moderate and even.
He was goaded into a challenge which he won with grace,he proved himself a judge of form but more remarkably a judge of the market.

Its disappointing that we can't have the two of ye.

We all get races right and wrong, the ones where I have the most antagonistic headings is where I am most confident.

It's a fright to have to explain everything when people can't read between the lines or catch a level of satire, I thought the term cleansing would be taken with a pinch of salt but had to run with it when questioned about it.

There is certainly an element of playing a character on here which can be amusing as the majority of us have to be so politically correct in our real lives.

At the end of the day it's an internet forum with aliases, should I really be offended that someone thinks DJ876 is an arrogant prick.

There might be many characters on here who I think are clueless but don't really dislike that many (except the Gotchee) and I have an issue with Pa which you must have missed.

He'll be back next week,he's left 33 other times and came back. He will be delighted with this thread and how much he is missed after a day.

Anyways I will be returning to my position on the judging panel after this thread  Tony and Wonks better pull up their socks.Wink

I'm politically incorrect here and in my real life.

I just think you have got Pa Lapsy wrong, reread the challenge thread and the pricing of a race thread and you will see the worthwhile stuff he puts up.

The pricing bit was an eye opener to me, the same in the challenge he instinctively knew the prices that were wrong.

You spotted a rick in the price of Mustadrik said 5/2 was wrong will be odds on,all I saw was a flat bred 4 year old running over three miles on the back of a win two days ago,I thought he had to be odds against.
Report dj876 May 31, 2015 10:04 PM BST
The cheekpieces have helped him a lot

I wouldn't be keen on backing him tomorrow back over 2m 4f traded at over 9 IR today over 3 miles.

Heavy ground you would say should place a greater emphasis on stamina but ground at Listowel can get very gluey.I would look on that as both sets of conditions changing rather than one countering the other.

His last 2 wins have come on good ground, all his flat runs are on good ground and he's american bred.

Young Kennedy is back on him which isn't necessarily a negative but experience wise could be,can't afford to be too far back. Each easy victory does still have some effect,a further mandatory penalty and a change in conditions he's almost a lay

I won't be able to watch the markets tomorrow so will sit out but wouldn't be a backer at odds on.

keep hounding pa lapsyLaugh anyone can find prices that are wrong if you know the form of the horses, you say he instinctively knew, you know and i know he doesnt make it pay, so why laud him as some greatWink

Good call with him DJ.

Wildman I would normally have approached Mustadrik in a similar manner to yourself. I can’t ever recall backing a 4yo in a handicap over three miles. However, you have to take all races on there merits. For a start, it was a truly abysmal race. I understand that the racecourse were distributing nose clips on entry today such was the smell emitting from many of the runners. Elliot, like WPM, is also a game changer. The man won the 4 miler with a son of Dynaformer. In short he can win any race with any type of horse. It’s something to keep in mind for the future. It’s like Willie winning a bumper and maiden hurdle with Childrens List who is clearly next to useless. These guys pull races out of horses that others wouldn't.

I don’t think Mustadrik will run tomorrow. It would be come feat to pull off two trebles in the space of a week. However, Mustadrik was far less impressive today than on Friday and theres a fair chance he won’t eat up overnight. It’s a long haul to listowel for him too in the morning.

Elliott gets credit for the placing of him and getting handicapped.

However I wouldn't go along with this notion of there been anything mysterious or unexplainable.

His run at Clonmel over 2m4f screamed his optimum trip was over further, this view was consolidated at Down Royal where he was almost accelerating at the line.

His optimum trip that would provide peak performance always looked from his style of running to be over further than 2m 4f.

I can see why one would have doubts about a 4yo in a handicap on winter ground but not on good ground when he looked to be crying out for a longer trip and was clearly thrown in with the wfa and claim.

You could be right TTK about being a NR today.

I didn't think it was a very good spot at all (just the most obvious pricing error imaginable) and wouldn't be claiming/wanting any credit for it.

WMFB can't believe you haven't an account with them, they're fairly quick to close but you will get a good few weeks out of it if you're not arbing or hitting the max stake button.
If you have a bad start it may last longer and you get a free matched €200 bet with your first deposit, small money considering your CAP payment but not a bad offer.

Very easy for the younger generation to get on through friends accounts etc. I would have friends that are purely recreational punters (no danger of them gambling your profit),they would just do the soccer pools and first goal scorers etc and the maximum bet allowed for them last night was €480 odd at 5/2. None of them went near the maximum stake but foolish not to try to access these premium prices when you have never had any accounts closed with them.

Ye have a more professional outlook to betting,I just do it for enjoyment.

Most of my betting is done here.
I know its hard to credit but I had bookmakers accounts,I found them frustrating and I was closed down.
The problem with these accounts is it just becomes a figure, its not real money.
DJ876 had 480 @ 5/2 a winner the 1200 profit doesn't go into his pocket,if it did he would have spent some of it,done something with the winnings.
Its why the bookmakers are pushing these accounts, there is none of the dreaded credit.

Betfair is similar,I watched my figure rise on a good run but just left it there, did nothing with it until the inevitable.

I like cash betting for that reason,I like going racing.

Mustadrik a non runner as predicted above.

Good card @ Naas today, some valuable clues on offer for the future. Two bets for me today:

Heavens Guest 2.40 7/2
Solid form horse who should run to form and will not be inconvenienced by underfoot conditions either way. Disappointing on last race but easy to forgive considering how competitive it is. A lot of his rivals have various questions marks over them in terms of ground/experience/fitness. A repeat of his form at the backend of last season should be enough to go close today.

Indian Tomhawk 5.15 9/1
Excellent form when beating Charlie Bear @ Dundalk last November who went on and won twice after. He then won a messy race @ Dundalk again showing guts and determination to get up on the line. Soft ground would be an unknown but it shouldn't be that testing today. Strong enough race with Lyons' horse looking a worthy favourite but Indian Tomhawk offers a nice e/w alternative imo.

Good luck all.

Captain Cullen takes the eye after his recent run at HQ, left with a lot to do over a trip short of his best he ran on well after meeting interference and should strip fitter today.  Beach Belle a smart 2yo last season c/d winner, looked as if she was comming to hand at Navan, again another I'd expect to come on for the run and has the assistance of A.A.
Good Luck
All Punters.

Certainly the most interesting horse running today to my mind, is Thomas Hobson down in Listowel.

A rapid improver on the flat with JG, he was sold to Ricci after his win at the back end of 2013. Injury prevented him from having a Triumph Hurdle season, which assuming he has fully recovered, may now be too his benefit.

I could see him being a Champion Hurdle horse in 2 years time. He has everything you want in a potentially top class hurdler. Hopefully he is back in one piece and gets the long road to Cheltenham off to a winning start today.
Report CheltenhamRoar June 1, 2015 12:37 PM BST
I'd say Thomas Hobson will be more of a World Hurdle type,Loves it soft and will be a bit of a slogger been by Halling.
Report callitasucit June 1, 2015 1:00 PM BST
Could well be Chelt. Certainly appreciates it on the easy side. Either way, I expected him to be top class. Just hope he is still the same animal.

Will be watching with interest.
Report CheltenhamRoar June 1, 2015 1:04 PM BST
Hopefully Callit,As you say,Injury looks to have curtailed his career thus far,Lets just hope it hasn't affected his ability.
Hoping he wins as he likes today.

In all fairness a nice little write up but to select two horses (fav and second fav) in a five horse race is a bit cowardly.
Report callitasucit June 1, 2015 1:29 PM BST
But what does it matter if they fav and second fav Gotchee??

If they are the two that he perceives as overpriced(and this mornings market supports his belief), then why nominate something else? For the sake of it?

The poor house would await such an approach.

In all fairness that post marks you as either clueless or stupid Gotchee.

Beating the market is what it’s about.

the 3.25 at Listowel obviously centres around whether the Tony Martin /Ruby one comes " alive " ..... One that could be a bit overpriced if he doesn t is Frankie Balou 16/1 ...... Wouldn t be Rothwells biggest fan like most on here but he broke his duck yesterday with a first winner since January ( buses and trains and all that !!! )

Frankie Balou will defo go on the ground as he s had a couple of good runs on heavy in particular chasing home westerner point a few runs back .... has caused a bit of trouble the last couple of times trying to run out ... if he behaves himself can see him running a big race ...
16/1 or 9/2 powers 3 places

Lillys Rainbow was eyecatching on heavy ground at the curragh the last day , stopped a couple of times in her run can go well
4/1 5.15

Finally its last throw of the dice with De Benno today ... everything in his favour and against a few others in it ... not the most resolute of finishers but getting one last chance today
3/1 4.30

There is an 8/1 winner posted on the below thread for you two day ago

http://community.betfair.com/irish_sports/go/thread/view/94110/30511849/saturdays-profit-for-the-lads

There is a 8/1,7/1,9/2/4/1 and 7/2 winner with 16/1 12/1 and 10/1 shots placed on the below

http://community.betfair.com/irish_sports/go/thread/view/94110/30486745/profitable-punchestown#flvWelcomeHeader

You should remember the above thread as per usual you showed the highest loss on it,approximately 600 points.

I didn't get this thread correct, there was also a significant NR in a 5 horse race but still made a miniscule profit, figure out why.

I only posted a few selections as I was antagonised and taunted to do so by the backslapping brigade but you,

You're a thick weasel without an ounce of shame who posts loser after loser accompanied by bland cliches.

Shocking weather today some bookies even left early to some jeers from their fellow bookies.Going changed after the first and several horses taken out,A real pity for the track who try so hard. I was impressed by Lyons horse who seems to trive on his racing. He looked the part today whereas the fav  looked as if he'd prefer better going having said that I'd back Argentero to beat him everytime.  Great Page took a walk in the market and was a little keen going down, infact in both the 2yo races the horse were spooked by the wind, gettting back to Great Page he could be called the winner a long way out, my mate got a little worried as Sean lost his cap and he wasen't sure it was him that was coming through. A poor crowd to watch what could be a very informative day.
