I was laughed at when I mentioned the cost factor in the referendum debate.
Its kicked in earlier than I thought.
They now want the partners of civil servants who died unmarried to receive backdated pensions and compensation.

All here should know my dislike of compensation seekers and the legal profession.
Have no doubt they are scouring death certificates trying to come up with bogus claims.

This is only an opening gambit.

That's against the law unless you are a member of the religion of peace.

A recurring theme of mine is a animus to compensation seekers.
This annoys mainly compensation seekers but it also irks the enablers.

Compensation seekers are like asylum seekers mostly bogus.

From your posts Dan its pretty clear that Quaaars Blacks Travellers Romanians are all on your hate list.
Report mincer11 May 26, 2015 12:34 PM BST
The beauty is ya dont even realise ya hate these minorities, its just part and parcel of your upbringing in rural Ireland.
The hatred is seeping out of almost every post, i forgot jews. I think they are on your list as well.
Theres plenty like you Dan, but they wont admit it.

Your memory is not so good.

How many times was I called an Islamophobe.

I support the right of Israel to exist.

However we all know what you hate, your own country.

Post after post about how dreadful this country is,your sneering reference to a rural upbringing is indicative of this nihilistic hate.

The biggest political loser of all is Michael Martin. He is surely on bided time before the inevitable heave begins......

IMHO a shrewder political operator would have seen the vacuum created by all the parties supporting yes and moved FF to their natural position a No supporter....

Martin though desperately tried to scramble for votes competing for an over rated liberal vote split amongst Labour, SF, FG etc.....The liberal vote he was fighting for is massively over rated. Its generally a young vote who only vote on fashionable issues such as gay marriage at this moment in time Eventually when these students hit the workforce, they will see the real issues and turn towards the centre right conservatism.

The most interesting and worrying aspect of the referendum was the media. The Irish media is stone dead.
The print media is rag with its pages are filled with opinion piece after opinion piece from non-entity biased, self promoting "Journalists".....sob story after sob story of some minority pleading the poor mouth. There is no genuine discussion of important subject matters such as Immigration and the EU. There is absolutely no investigative journalism of any kind.

Wildman hates no one....he gives his opinion as he sees it, we don't agree on some things but there's no badness to the man, hes entitled to call it as hes sees it as are any of us?

He might turn out to the loser in this but the blanker coverage being afforded to Averil Power is incredible. The fact that Fionan Sheehan is her husband and providing her with this platform is not being commented on.

She is an elected member of a house that could easily have been dispensed with, but the media would have you believe that one of Ireland's great political leaders of the future has been wronged here.

I was thinking the same thing re Fionan, Ger Gilroy was on Twitter extolling her virtue as some new figurehead and I thought to myself "Christ, Fionnan has some reach."

In reality, Martin was probably right and it was all to do with how many candidates they were going to run and her chances of becoming a TD. The scribes are as Machiavellian as the politicians, no one gives a fck about the other side of the story and anyone who brings it out will be finished.

I would say she is 100% motivated by getting a seat at the next election and making sure that she highlights her role in the referendum as much as possible. This being backed up by the biased reporting in the media, will give her a platform among the voters in the referendum, from which to seek the additional votes needed.

She was likely to have been the number 2 candidate on the paper next year and knew that provided her with next to no chance of furthering her political ambition.

I am no lover of FF or Martin, but this is very carefully contrived and she has been given far too much coverage already.

They'd have won even if I had went door-to-door for them with my lad in my hand.
Report Racingqueen May 27, 2015 11:33 AM BST
Power is no loss she is FFs Ivana Bacik. Usually found playing the smallest violin available on feminist issues.
I'd be surprised if she got a seat whichever way she went.

Wildman you have a point, but you have to understand the church has been on the wrong side of a few arguments lately, contraception, abortion, with its history the young are not religious as before, times change im not saying for good in all instance..but you must recognise the damage the pidophiles, and the way the church handled it..has set them back ..a lot of this imo is self inflicted?
