It was those Identity Ireland gob****s, the one's with the website written by an illiterate child and economic polices straight out of Kindergarten that make Sinn Fein look sophisticated.

The protestors, from the Anti-Racism Network Ireland, started a chorus of We Shall Overcome and turned their chairs away from the presentation area.

There are some hardy chaws associated with Identity Ireland, allegedly liked to Far Right movements across Europe.  Scuffles broke out and hotel security was called. Two men were seen exchanging head-butts and some people attempted to prevent others from leaving the room.

“As a network we’re not prepared to stand by and allow racist discourse to be heard in the public sphere,” O’Curry director of the European Network Against Racism Ireland.

They may be illiterate, they may have stupid economic policies but the point is should they be allowed have a meeting.

In the world of the intolerant Liberal,No they don't allow differing views.

They have umpteen ways of suppressing these differing views, violence in some cases but mainly by name calling.
Racist,homophobe are the current favourites.

Labelling your opponents has having phobias is a good one as you don't have to engage, you say they need some type of treatment to cure them, threaten them with a mental institution, its Soviet Russia in the fifties.

It was a public meeting, anyone was entitled to attend and air their views.  And to be entitled to do so with the threat of violence.

And as regards the notion of Free Speech... legal systems, and society at large, recognize limits on the freedom of speech, particularly when freedom of speech conflicts with other values or rights  Limitations to freedom of speech may follow the "harm principle" or the "offense principle", for example in the case of hate speech.

I am rather peckish and shall depart for lunch.

One doesn't have to tolerate those airing racist views.  Thankfully society and the law have evolved beyond 1930's Germany

Tony can't seem to get his head around the simple fact that free speech has its limitations.

I repeat, for Tony's benefit; And as regards the notion of Free Speech... legal systems, and society at large, recognize limits on the freedom of speech, particularly when freedom of speech conflicts with other values or rights  Limitations to freedom of speech may follow the "harm principle" or the "offense principle", for example in the case of hate speech.

its different if your saying hang gays..if you see a gay man stab him..yes I get that although its still classed as free speech but I would be against such crap...but what you class as harmful is people objecting to something?..thats not harmful, and I don't think its right to stop people expressing their opinion as long as violence is not involved.

Ozymandius would you ban this group ?

Does a self appointed guardian have the right to decide who shall speak ?

Didnt take long for Godwins Law to kick in.

Banning seems harsh, think I would invite them on a boat trip and then hope that you would mistake them for immigrants and nuke 'em on their way back to shore.
