He was like an anchor in recent years.

The key  point to bear in mind is that it doesn't really matter who  rides 'em.
One might detect differences among amateur riders but the general run of professional jockeys are much of a muchness. They have a relatively easy job to do most of the time.
As the old saying has it and as the riders  themselves know...the jockey can't come without the horse. The hype over McCoy for the last 15 years or so has been utterly excessive. 'Champion jockey' is an empty  meaningless title because jockeys are not competing against each other on equal terms.
In fact there's far too much emphasis on jockeys' performance overall -the real central character is the trainer who not only gets the horse fit over many weeks/months of training but ,crucially, picks the races to aim for and plans campaigns over the longer term.

No it doesnt matter who rides them,all the jockeys are the same.
Ruby Walsh and Geraghty are the same as all the rest of them.

There's clearly a select number of jockeys that are years ahead of the rest. The rest are largely much of a muchness.

No Huddy's, mincers post was a sarcastic response to Vubiant's post. That's what I took from it anyway. A jockey cannot win without the horse but plenty get beat even with the horse.

McCoy didnt get on with Jezki,his bullying style suited some.
His main skill was staying in one piece for twenty odd years.
