How many will be punting the Mullins shorties tomorrow ...From a punting point of view its not the greatest card though some smashing races for the connoisseurs ...
Think it's an interesting card myself. Some very talented novices on display and two bumpers likely to throw up horses of note plus a competitive champion chase.
If Hidden Cyclone is ever to get his day in the sun it will be tomorrow. He reportedly got a bad graze in Cheltenham which may have affected him. He is a two mile horse in truth and should be relatively fresh at this stage of the season. It would be a good tonic for the McNamara family if he collected. There has been no bigger fan of CF since I saw him win his 4yo maiden. However, it's time to face up that he is becoming a nearly horse. His only wins over fences have come Grade 2's plus his beginners (all over 2m4f). He disappointed here last year and that was after skipping Aintree. This year he comes off a very tepid effort and I would think WPM is pulling his hair out with this horse.
The other main fancy is Mr. Diablo. He is 2/2 on good ground and has plenty of good runs round the track. He looks reasonably treated off 130 and he is unexposed in fast run handicaps which should suit him. His rider takes off a valuable 5lbs. At the prices he represents decent value for his connections who will have been keeping one eye on Punchestown from quite a way out.
A token interest on Boxer Georg could be rewarded. His recent for under this rider is brutal but he has won a p2p this season and ran well over the banks before. It is a truly shocking race when Bolger's mare is an 11/10 shot.
The Land Rover is a minimum stakes race as ever. However, Art Of Synergy showed plenty of debut and, at double figure odds, is entitled to go close. These sales races can produce weak fields occasionally and it will be a fair race if he can't make the places at least.

Good to find a thread. Had a look over at Horse Racing and couldn't find one. Over for the first four days, staying in Dublin.
Its not a card I feel I want to get stuck into, more of a gentle introduction and I wont be backing any odds ons. Some great horses to see, though.
So far; like the look of Frontline but hearing TTK and will only have a bit each way. Probably back Mallowney in the Champion. Will keep my ears open regarding the bumpers and see if anyone else on here fancies anything.
Its cold and blowy but I hope it stays dry.
Good luck everyone, CT

Even though it`s a big handicap, I don`t see many front runners, so a prominent racer will be vital. Regards to Mr Diablo, yes he is 2-2 on good ground at the track but 1-1 in a bumper and 1-1 in a slowly run hurdle against a weak finisher. I expect him to be out stayed and a lay=up in running would be advised.
A.D.L.Cour for me.

Art of Synergy = Take a look at his debut race. Wide all the way round and rider does not move a muscle until for no obvious reason switching to the inside after the last. If not today then certainly one to watch.

i LIKE the plan man in the big handicap hurdle, looks like one that will be saved for a big handicap and looks like he will enjoy abit of decent ground although hard to know what it will be like atm. Save on viconte du noyer who looks on a nice mark based on his chase runs @ a big price.
I also feel don poli might be vulnerable todsy back @ a speed track like punchy. Very slow horse who was beaten here last year over hurdles. Will back apache stronghold against him, they said he didn't stay 3 miles after run at chrimbo but I thought he stayed fine.
Good luck all.

Don will probably win but a shocking price at 2/5, not much between Valseur,Wounded and Apache and seem on various form lines to be about 3Lths behind Don,not enough to justify 2/5 imo.

Ladbrokes are going 7-2 on Wounded Warrior without Don Poli. That is a massive price.
To my eye Valseur Lido looked to have had enough for the season at Fairyhouse. He had a very hard race chasing shadows at Cheltenham, and its a big ask for him to bounce back here.
Apache has a fall to come back from, and though it may have saved him an unduly hard race, it is not the ideal preparation, and he too has that grueller form Chelt to overcome. And there is the stamina question to answer here too.
WW had a tough race himself at Chelt, but he strikes me as a very robust sort, who thrives on a war. Skipped Fairyhouse, I would make him fav in this market.
Im off to find a Ladbrokes.....or 3!!

not a great card punting wise, I,ll wait till later in the week, be looking out for the bumpers..BON ENFANT won a wincanton bumper 4wks ago normally wincanton bumpers are strong ..but this one was no great shakes although the trainer had talked up the horse before its debut, the Elliot horse fto with a hood that worries me..just be glad to watch and hope a nice horse comes out of the bumpers, last season forgotten rules won the last, good luck ..

That is just Sweetman who could not be bothered to look at the photo on the p2p site, let alone watch the video.

Sweetman never or very rarely does and it is clear from any pieces that he writes on ex-pointers.

Probably taking Enda on at your peril in the 1st but it is very short given its mistakes on previous racecourse appearances. Boxer Georg could well be past his sell by date but had a lot more of a "touch of class" in the hunters field in '13/14,also 2nd in this in '12,looks a big price ew at 16/1 if not totally gone.

I have thrown a few sentimental euro on him. A lot shorter in the market than this morning, but that nearly makes him more of a bet. Suggests he has come on a ton since comeback.

The jumping left Hidden Cyclone down again. Looks like he is destined to remain a horse for the small field mid winter races as opposed to championship level. Champagne Fever ran very ordinary again. Hard to know where to place him given the quality novice chasers coming on behind him. Maybe he could take Uncle Juniors place in the cross country races.
Not off to a great start with Mr. Diablo's race being over after 100 yards. Hopefully the rain eases up as it could badly affect the rest of the week.

Competitive but I give this fella a real chance, . I feel the better ground will also suit him, and D Mullins takes 5 off and hes also down a further 2. That run at Naas was a cracker, getting a little outpaced but running on again. expect him to give me a run for my money.

ive took 10 e/w for SUPASUNDAE in the 6.05, he really stood out in the paddock at the festival..he was the one I would of took home before the race but MODUS does not look impressive but has the engine, of the mullins runners pyhonthepressure could be his best. ive had small bets on DON COSSACK, and FLECHERS FLYER E/W, good luck all

Backed Supasundae myself Soft lad but just to win, not going EW in a 13 runner field. I think Cassells rock is interesting in the opener along with Seskinane at a big price who once beat On his own by 8.5 lengths and was then wrongly disqualified in Sligo. Also on the Don ante post in the big one.

That's some bumper Tony, rotten hard, more i look at Disko's run last time the more it impresses me,he is unproven though class wise and probably leave him go. Despite P o'H an all Shaneshill looks todays best bet,7/4 is very fair. WPM place treble @ 4/1 of Shaneshill/Djakadam/Arkwhist looks a cracking bet on the sportsbook here if able to get on(E6.65 they allowed me). GL
