Just noticed his death notice in today's newspaper.
He was editor of the Irish Field for many years. A larger than life character who was good company and used to regularly attend meetings in the 70s and 80s, not sure when he retired.

Interesting story in his obituary published today in the Times.
When the 1981 Irish Guineas finished in controversy Lamb supported the local stewards who awarded it to the Harwood horse Tou Agouri Mou and against the Turf Club Stewards who reversed the decision on appeal in favour of Vincent's horse  Kings Lake. Lambs support for Harwood caused a leading stud to withdraw advertising for a year from the Irish Field.

I wonder would Coolmore be so petty if it happened today?
