amazing stat...no drunks,.no pick pockets(big problem in recent years)I remember 4 yrs ago a irish guy I met was distraught about his wallet, he had been dipped but it was not the money although that was enough 500 and cards, but it had pics of kids mother etc..I got a policeman and me and another guy took him to his hotel, the hotel scrapped his bill, manager was ashamed of Liverpool, (rightly so)we gave him 200 to make sure he was ok and enough to get home..week later the money came back to my address, and the hotel gave him 3 days the next year for cut price...

Nice story Tony...A number of years ago i went to the the Galway races ; in the hotel on the first night i got talking to a Cork man in the bar i bought him a pint and he went up to the bar to return the favour ; he came back to tell me that they wouldn,t serve him as it was after closeing time and he wasn,t  staying at the hotel, we had a few more drinks on my hotel bill and went our separate ways,  the following day the Hotel Receptionist called me and gave me a  Envelope which had double tickets for each day of the Galway races with a note from my Cork friend thanking me for the few drinks the night before, ..I never saw the man since

Racing people , amazing how they look after one another , two smashing stories lads . I met a guy on here called Ochardist many moons ago , a truly wonderful gent who drove me all over the UK racing , next week me and Mrs Workrider are meeting him and his wife for lunch in Cheltenham , a nicer man you could not meet ..
The forum has its benefits as well as its pain...
