Advice needed - golf trip to Malahide

Gibneys is a great pub.

Best bars are as Ozy says Gibneys (beer garden best and always good crowd in summer, inside a bit dated and dark), Fowlers across the road has plenty of big screens to watch any sport. Duffys on Main st pretty dead.

If your group want to be twice the average age of the clientele by all means head to Tomangoes. A better bet is to head next door from Gibneys to Wrights which might be more suitable as plenty of women there also reckon they still have it!

Only 30 minutes spin on train into Dublin if you're looking for something more lively.

Restaurants Kajal (Indian/Asian), Cape Greko and Seabank Bistro are all solid options. Bon Appetit has a michelin star but that might not be what you're looking for on a lads weekend. Need to book Kajal as popular.

If you want to clear the head the next day in the castle grounds, Avoca is fine if somewhat pricey for a spot of lunch.

Everything is within walking distance while both Portmarnock courses and Malahide are only a couple of minutes spin in a taxi.

Friday 8th May - Ire v Eng in one day Cricket.

The Island GC (must play ! twice, it's that good) and/maybe Portmarnock GC if money/tee time no problem. Also Baltray, Co Louth is not that far.

Is the Island a good course , catchme , presumably you have played it ? I have connection with one of the members there , often wondered how good it is . I have played Portmarnock 5 times , Royal Dublin once . Great golfing terrain that part of north Dublin .
