Hi Folks, I know this isn't Tripadvisor but I'm going to Youghal for the weekend after Punchestown and I wondered how long to allow to drive back to Dublin Airport on the Monday morning, which I assume is a bank holiday over there too. Many thanks in advance.

The opening poster is inadvertently opening a can of worms.
The roads are so good now around three and a half hours with two viable routes.
You could head to Dungarvan and hit the motorway before Waterford,its motorway all the way to the airport.
Alternatively you could head for Fermoy and hit the another motorway and again motorway all the way to the airport.
Either way you will do it in under four hours handy.
There are many posters here from Youghal but they are not really the helping kind,expect a string of invective.

3 hours tops. Either way. Waterford way shorter in distance.
Boychild , you'd find it hard to get from Finglas to the City Centre without your Mammy in toe....

Catford toteboard, im from Youghal and to get to Dublin Airport it should take you no more than 2 and a half hours with the improved roads that exist . The way to go is head for Waterford,through the toll bridge and head to Dublin from there,where you will eventually join the M50 northbound and it will be signposted from there. No matter what speed you drive at ,there is no way it can take anymore than 3 hours.
AP well beaten on a shure thing..again...done my bollox on the beast. Does any good horse ever run for the b@stard? (scratch that, pocket talking BUT...will be delighted to see the back of him! he is not lucky for me)
Thanks for all your help chaps. Will go through Waterford and pick up the M9, allowing three hours for the journey. I see its 156 miles, Catch me, but was concerned about traffic and local conditions. Never been outside of Dublin and Naas so am looking forward to my trip :)
There is no traffic on the Motorways in Ireland, M50 aside. You can bring a football and stop off for a game. en route.
