Think Mydor 8/1 surely ought to run well in this and looks a decent ew bet. Inclined to forgive his Kempton run as slightly short and the ground was a bit quick for him, still ran on well enough after being held up and not the smoothest passage. Ought to have won at Punchestown where he travelled well, before that won snugly at Leopardstown(Forever Gold 3rd). Should love the conditions on what i,ve seen today.
Shane Shorthall would i hope had the pick between him and stablemate I Shot The Sheriff who was impressive last time as was Mine Now,7 and 6lb penalties aren't excessive and rate them dangerous particulay the latter with the excellent David Mullins aboard.Don't particulary like the Mcmanus horses though at a big price Off the Charts through Archie Meade could go well neither like Rupert Lamb and can't see much else threatening.
Gl anyone having a punt there.

Howya Lapsy ..... Have to agree with you Lapsy re Mydor and 8/1 could be a bit of each way value .... Proven course form on the ground and the trip is the big thing  for me here and Mydor ticks those boxes .... Forever Gold has ran 7 times around fairyhouse and hasn t even a top 3 finish to his name while Mine Now has to prove himself at 3 miles ...Wide open again but 8 s Mydor worth chancing imo

I'm grand Dingle, hope you're well yourself, probably be half the odds only for that Kempton run which i thought was okay under the circumstances. Your point with the ground on your Nat. thread is spot on,a lot of white flags today, hopefully stays the same tomorrow.

Quite fancy Empire of Dirt for the National. Think he could end up being nearly the best horse in the race, yet races off a mere 9-11 tomorrow. Superb jumper, abundance of stamina, touch of class in a poor race. Hard not to see him involved.

Have heard from a few different sources how much those in Hourigans fancy The Job is Right.

Ran well as we thought Dingle, drying ground,no pace and the money for the stablemate(very impressive and maybe Galway hurdle?) had me fearing the worst, place will have to do.

Ran well PA,surprised a man of your experience thought that a 5lb claimer would have the choice in that stable.

I would say he's not consulted let alone allowed to make the call. No  doubt he's told what he's riding and glad to get it.

Surprised in the sense with Townend who seldom rides for him(though has a bit of late),it would be different with say Geraghty or Carberry SS has ridden Mydor a good few times, may have just stayed loyal, winner looked very good.

Townend is the form jockey and is as high profile as Geraghty/Carberry (Different level to Carberry) now.

It's not here or there but a it surprised that you maintain that Shorthall would have had the choice.

It was good of Shane to tell Tony Martin to put AP up on BLair Perrone in this.

Shane might have done a bit better, don't think that race was a handicap.

Jeez I didn't know jockeys can't claim in a graded race, thanks for the info Pa. You're extremely well informed.

No worries DJ,you won't see a lot of claimers in graded races, look out for it in future.

You will see less 5lb claimers calling the shots in big stables but it's about the level I expect from you.

Mind that PP a/c now, miraculous that a judge like you can get a decent stake on at overnight pricesBlush
