Lets stop the bickering lads and get on with what this forum does best , thats tipping winners or lays ...Over the years there has been some momentous tipping at the festival , hopefully we'll get stuck into picking winners once again ...For the week , no time wasting on rubbish , just a pure racing thread ...Hopefully those on the fringes will take part , its not a personality contest either ...Maybe Slickster , Toby , Paulie  etc , will join in ...
To start the ball rolling I'll name a few I like and my lay of the festival ....
My nap is Don Cossack , having watched the fellow turn from a ugly duckling in a beautiful swan , he is now the real deal and has become a man .....
My nb is Bobs Worth ,hoping this fellow shows a return to form now that Nicks horses have turned the corner , its more or less the same race as last year bar a few , so if he returns to his top form he has a massive chance...
Finally for the moment my lay of the meeting is Faugheen ..
He might turn out to be the superstar people seem to think he is already , but I'll pay to differ ....

I was at the Cafe en Seine Cheltenham preview last  night ,Barry Geraghty and Jessica Harrington, Donn McClean of Racing UK & Newstalk; Dave Keena of the Irish Field were amoung the Panel,i didn,t take notes but the most pertinent points of the evening were as fellows, Rock on ruby world hurdle , and Valseur Lido in the J.L.T were giving an pretty much unanimous vote,.....  In the handicaps ..Gold bullit kim muir,.. Modem County hurdle,.. and THE Druids nephew in the 3mile were all Fancied.  jESSICA said Jezki did a nice bit of work that morning and she was very happy with the horse, Barry reported S.S. in great form,  ..big Negative of the night was Vautour in the J.l.T.[ some dude is looking for 3.4 here] and Faugheen [price wise]

Would you mind completing some standard paperwork first?  Kindly sign the following;

I, Wonky, commit to behave in the manner befitting a Grandfather for the duration of the Festival.  I accept that I am seen as the resident village idiot and as such, deserve all abuse, directed at me.  I promise that all remarks I make by way of response to such abuse, be contextual and non-repeditive.  If I cannot come up with a relevant, contextual or non-repeditive reply, then I will make no reply whatsoever and simply congratulate the superior wit, repartee and imagination of my abuser(s).

Signed....

My opinions on horse racing would be worth feck all, Kavvie.  Have very few connections in the game these days.

I could put up a few, if they won I would get a few claps on the back, but I would feel like a fraud, because after all I had only really been guessing.  Intelligent guessing perhaps, but guessing nonetheless. I certainly wouldn't be able to demonstrate a consistent profit on horse racing, which for me would be a basic prerequisite for holding court about it with any sort of authority.

That said, I love racing, am a racing man, and looking forward to next week.

hardly ozy,i have better things to do than hang out here attempting to wind people up like yourself.you should be embarrassed by the amount of drivel and silly pics you have posted recently.

not like snap to accuse someone of seething is it!? adding a lol and the end doesnt make it funny or true either.

The Snap thread is great craic, not to mention profitable.  It seems impossible to please all of the people all of the time.  Some people hate to see other people succeed.

if pretending that you have been tipped 4/6 shots in french basketball which  you then claim should be 1/20 and consequently get turned over is your idea of success then i feel sorry for you.

Not one to blow my own trumpet, but think the basketball thread is one of the best that has ever been on here.

Cheerio frank, I will have to check the racing post website now daily in your absence to see the headlines of the day

A tad harsh, Snap,  Frank is one of the good guys.

Anyway, we all know he is splurging the Harrington money and heading off to Brittas Bay with a young wan for the week.

Ozy, you said your opinions were worth feck all, that you would be guessing at putting up selections for next week, can i tell you that there is some posters on these threads that put up daily picks for Irish cards and believe me they would not pick berries off briars....

wr..puts up a thread trying to get back to proper racing in the most important week of the year to a lot of people yet the nonsense continues....its tiring ..boring..i thought this site was so much better without this crap..people who have no interest in betting should find a thread or site that suits them?...would of been nice to have a sensible discussion about chelts..

Willie just might be getting a little worried about the ground for Faugheen never mind the Fly , if they turn the taps on it still mightn't be soft enough for this fella , I really feel he'll struggle...
