Have to say I was shocked by those comments supposedly from an RTE insider! Delighted the talent won out in the end.

It seems "Rumors Of your Demise Have Been Greatly Exaggerated"OZY  ... When asked what a West Brit was Brenden Behan replied its a Catholic whos owns horses..........West Brit, an abbreviation of West British, is a pejorative term for an Irish person who is perceived by other Irish people as being too anglophilic in matters of culture or politics.

The term is not limited to any particular geographic region or social class of Ireland, although the interests of Ireland's upper class, and particularly the upper class of Dublin, make them most susceptible as targets. This is also true for historical reasons – "jackeen" is a comparable term from Irish history referring to people of Dublin who supported British rule. But any Irish person, rich or poor, from any part of the country, showing great interest in British affairs may have the term "West Brit" applied to them.

Given the mish mash society that England (in particular as against Scotland and Wales ) has become for a variety of reasons , I wonder why any sane person would harbour any desire to join that circus .  Ireland has many faults , but its a lot better place to be living than across the pond . Even with some of the flag waving numpties and back woodsmen in our midst .

The only advantage in living in England ( in particular the south ) is being adjacent to Europe travel wise , time and cost . We suffer from being a bridge too far from France in particular unless air travel satisfies all your criteria .

A foul mouthed return.

Why the rant against Keen Leader ?
Where was this alleged bigotry ?

Molly Sterling is a talented beautiful young lady from the North Riding and all of Tipperary are proud of her.

This is Puckanes version of beauty and the beast.
