Will be very interested in Spring Heeled run today. Would be my idea of the National winner if getting good ground.

Jumped like a stag when winning at the festival last year, and has shown in his two runs since that his mark of 149 is certainly exploitable given his ideal conditions. He could never really lay up comfortably at Galway, yet still ran a cracker. Bit of a worry that he seemed to throw in the towel slightly at Sandown before running on. But Aintree can ignite even the oddest of animals, and Spring Heeled is not one of those just yet. 25-1 will certainly look very big on the day, if good ground materialises.

Yeah, i wouldnt really fancy him today myself Norn. Ground wont be ideal. Would just like to see him travel sweeter and avoid that big flat spot/sulk that he hit at Sand. Will back for National then.

Two bets for me today @ Fairyhouse:

My Murphy 2.05
Managed to snaffle some of the 11/4 last night but that is well and truly gone now. Ran an admirable race @ Gowran to finish 2nd behind djakadam and always struck as a high class chaser. Not much opposition today imo, agree with norn that spring heeled probably won't be fully tuned up today and will not be in love with the ground either. Roi du mee won an egg and spoon race last time @ Tramore, th form has worked out terrible. The other two are rags. Find it very hard to see my murphy beat.

Burning Issues 3.50
Won 2 handicap hurdles in which form has worked out excellently. Was very leniantly handicapped on the basis on 2nd in maiden hurdle with the benefit of hindsight. Finished 3rd @ Navan behind 2 decent ones, winner was very well ridden on the day. Step down in trip will suit also and 7/1 offers good value.

Good luck all.

Culloty will be delighted with SH. Jumped and travelled, just got outpaced, and probably blew up. Travelled about 4 miles too, so stamina no concern for connections at AintreeLaugh

Thought young Patrick should have got busier a little earlier as appeared to be caught flat footed at the furlong pole in the Bumper, looked like the horse had more to offer going by the post.
