Ireland v Wales is scheduled for Sun 7th Feb 2016 at 3pm which although Leopardstown have not released their 15/16 dates as yet will surely mean a clash for Hennessy day with the rugby in Dublin. Any recent precedents of this happening?
Some years ago the six nations England v Wales match clashed with the Newbury Hennessy Gold Cup and the Beeb left the race to show the national anthem at the rugby match. Interesting that there is a precedent that they have switched the Hennessy meeting. I'll be coming over with a load of rugby fans and I would have gone racing on the Sunday anyway and missed the rugby but a switch of the racing to Saturday would work out ok.

Too many fixtures in the racing calenders to be moving them around to accommodate the handful of people who want to see the rugby as well.
I would agree though the Greyhound Derby and the Irish (Horse) Champion Stakes card should have their own slots rather than clashing since it would be same type of person who would follow both.
