You could not make it up , o'shea week after week game after game he's on the receiving end of some  horrendous tackles usually has 2 players hanging around his neck trying to drag him down ,yet today he gets black carded for trying to charge down  / block the keepers soft hand pass  comical

Well whatever it was it wasn't a black card - a yellow for sure and maybe a red if the ref had a bad hangover - but not a surprise cos eddie Kinsella couldn't have reffed himself outa a paper bag yesterday - all over the shop but it affected both teams so ya cant claim he was impartial.  Jeez but the refs nowadays are some crowd of cowboys

It is near impossible to punt on league football at this stage , as most games are decided by black/red cards at the behest of the ref.

Lads, hate to say this but Mayo are developing a bit of a victim complex. O'Shea is a brilliant footballer, pity ye couldn't clone another one for the edge of the square. Find a blue chip forward and ye will be bang there.

I'm NOT saying we lost cos of the Ref - we shot 15 wides and that is why we lost. But that O'Shea call was just plain wrong as were many of his calls yesterday for BOTH sides.

Disappointing to lose a home game but we are trying out lads and sure its only the second game.

Not saying you're blaming the decision for the result but with Mayo there always seems to be a crib. The staging of the semi in Limerick last summer a prime example.Ref was bad that day in fairness but but people don't want to hear it.

You're f ucking dead right theres a crib ! That's cos we have been shafted numerous times going back to the '48 final where some **** blew the game up early !

Getting the rub of the green once might be a help but that's not what the post was about, it was about a black card that should never have been issued.neither the ref or the 2 umpires had the aid of a slow motion replay such as the viewers watching the game had so unless their 110% sure a yellow should have been enough.

if o'shea had been advancing towards goal and tried to just fist it over the keepers head and  the keeper taken out o'shea with the same movement what chance do you think he would have been black carded ,none what so ever.

Ah when he's beginning the year and not fit he can get very frustrated anyways when things not going well - might easily have got a red if he had stayed on - might be a blessing in disguise.

MayoMan who in the name of god are ye trying out?  Ye have the same woeful forwards year in year out!  I could name 4 or 5 that are on or close to the team that have been there for the past 5 or 6 years and are not good enough!Surely in the county of Mayo there are better forwards than Conroy, Varley and Ronaldson???  These guys are not county standard and wouldnt get on any county team!
Another problem for Mayo is they dont really seem to pluck guys from the smaller clubs.  Look at Cork or Kerry and they are a good few lads who play junior club football.  As far as i can see mayo selectors ignore Junior teams!

As for Aidan O'Shea, he was the losing of the semi final for ye last year.  Very predictable player in that he would rather be the big man and try and wrestle his way through 3 or 4 players instead of laying the ball off to a man in better position.  A glory hunter!
