1st selection H Stenson 11/1 win,too big a price to let go,hopefully last week was a blip 2nd selection, R Bello 50/1 e/w,have to give him one more chance,finished joint second here last year, 3rd slection A Quiros 100/1 e/w,has shown some good form here before, 4th selection R Karlsson 40/1,showed some good form last week until the final round,worth another chance at the odds, Best of luck this week, |

Haven't much time this evening, so will just stick up Qatar selections.
Henrik Stenson was one to oppose last week, and Rob Karlsson should have brought the bacon home as Top Swede but chose not to. A different set of circumstances this week, and I feel it will pay to be with the big Swede. From 2005 to 2009 Stenson was superb around here. His form everywhere went downhill for few years after that, so poorer form figures since are of no concern. Last tear, he took awhile to get going due to a number of factors. Most of these factors don't apply this year. He improved massively from Thursday to Friday last week, and that should have blown away the cobwebs. Sergio Garcia is a massive danger, and backing both may be the way to go, but I would think that Stenson has just as much chance yet is 12-1 compared to 15-2 for the Spaniard, who doesn't have the benefit of a run out. I'm not a huge fan of Nicolas Colsaerts, he throws away too many winning opportunities and is fast becoming a wasted talent. But this track is made for him, and he could go very close this week. Mikko Ilonen is much more adept at converting winning opportunities, and pushed Sergio Garcia all the way here last year. 5 E/W selections for me in the Humana Challenge:
Webb Simpson 35/1 Likes these low scoring events and has good form in this including T3 last year. Will need to maintain last weeks good form with the putter. Brendan Todd 40/1 Putting is key here and not many better with the flat stick than Todd. Good T6 here last year. Russell Knox 50/1 Knox is a player to watch in these events where dsitance not so important. Played well on similar course last week in sony open. Jason Kokrak 66/1 For a man who hits is so long, Kokrak maintains a good short game also. T8 here 2 years ago and in good form atm with 3 top 20 finishes last 3 events. Daniel Summerhays 80/1 Putting is this mans best attribute and that will serve him well around here. Decent showing last week boosts confidence. Good luck men. |

No interest in the tournament in US. I never liked the Bob Hope over 5 rounds either.
Id get more enjoyment watching the weekend competition in the local P & P club. Qatar Masters was great stuff last year. Sergio holing big puts and scip shots to come from behind in the final round. 7/1 is plenty short enough for me though considering he didn't play so well in late 2014 as he did in 2014. Would much prefer to have Cabrera Bello @65s based on last years tournament. I have to back Schwartzel again. Showed great resolve to register another Top 10 last week after his disaster in SA the previous week. Maybe it's the wife on the bag but his game looks in great shape again. My other fancy is Thorbjorn Olesen. His price is a bit tight but for small stakes I think he can bounce back after last week. |

I wouldn't be too keen on it either Apple, coverage does be shocking for the first 3 days at least, and only mildly better on Sunday. I wont see much of it on Fri or Sat, so wont have to suffer it.
It takes someone who can be a real 'birdie machine' over the 4 days to oblige here, and a hot putter is a must. I have gone with 6 selections, all of whom can light it up with the flat stick. Firstly Zach Johnson, who although very disappointing last week, he had been in superb form with the putter the week before, and can rediscover the touch here. 33-1 is more than fair in a field lacking any real star name, apart from a returning Phil. Brandt Snedeker had a very poor 2014, and comes here with a new driver. Maybe he should be treated with caution until showing real signs of a return to his best. But by then 45-1 quotes in fields like this will be gone. Two Top 10s at the end of 2014, one in the WGC, suggest the corner might be about to be turned. He is purring about his new toy off the tee, and if that confidence extends to his putter, he is just the type to make a deluge of birdies. Billy Horschel finished the 2014 season in style, and quite understandably took his eye off the ball for a weeks. A nice blowout in the Hyundai will set him up nicely for an assault on an event which suits him more than most. Two top tens here in his last 3 visits, when not as good a player suggest he has what it takes to take home the prize. And crucially he now knows how to get it done. 45-1 is an insult. Ryan Palmer is probably not a whole lot of value anymore. But at the same time he is very hard to get away from. He may not get across the line on Sunday, but it is very hard to see him not being involved. The question will be whether to trade out or not. Hedges are for gardens, but Palmer may be one that requires a small one if he goes low on Sunday. He looked in fine nick last week, and his record here speaks for itself. He will rally fancy his chances, and as long as that doesn't place too much pressure on him, I cant see him out of the top 10. Charlie Hoffman has shied at the odd winning post himself, but is another who has the right attributes for this test, and again also showed his game to be in good nick at the Hyundai. He lost the run of himself from 2010 to 2012 here, missing 3 consecutive cuts, but apart from that his tournament form is top notch. A past winner, the slightly more relaxed nature of this event obviously suits him, and should again be in the mix on Sunday. One from left field is Justin Leonard. A bit like Charles Howell last week, he is a standing dish at this event. He was noted making some nice putts last week, and he reads and plays the greens here this week better than anyone. Also a past winner here, he has another 4 top 20s in his last 12 visits, and odds of 7-1 to finish in that segment are far too big. Charlie Hoffman looks a steal at 10-11 to beat Nick Watney in todays 2 ball. Watney is badly out of form for a while now, and will have reason to be rusty this week. Hoff consistently churns out scores in the mid 60s here, and that should be more than enough. 5.10pm tee off.

Backed Hoffman in 2 ball again at 21-20. Was in work, they initially showed Watney as shooting 9 under aswell. Since changed to 8, so Hoff wins by one. Was beginning to wonder what I had to do collect on a 2/3 ball!!

Did someone tell Kuchar it was Sunday today? Shocking last 4 holes. Poor back 9 for Palmer. Bogeyed two par 5s, and par the other one. Missing short putts on all 3. Costly.
Billy Horschel looks a shade of value at 110 on here. Leaderboard packed full of chokers, on a birdie lay out. They could all fall over themselves tomorrow, Billy could easily lob in a 64...that may get it done. It shouldn't. But it might. |

Last two holes were shockers alright, 8 now with just a shot between them,a further 2 shots back to the pelethon,given the course easy to go low(Duvals 59) could not write them off but think it is one of the 8 myself. Impressed with Pinckney,s interview last night and he handled himself very well,32,s looks a bit big to me for the position he is in.

Hoff has Brian Davis and Lucas Glover to look after. Its awhile since Glover was in contention, and Davis is not great in such a position. Hoff showed on Friday how low he can go, and he could still trouble the leaders tonight. Laird faces Martin Laird and Sung Jun Park.
